@ForesterSOF I have a 2080T in a Alienware Threadripper. I do not run diag programs while playing. I do however notice the fans kicking in occasionally for maybe ten seconds. However my computer room is not optimal as my house has evaporative cooling so room is always 70f. This fan activation does not happen at any other time except when playing the Alpha. Posted mostly to confirm that even with " High End Gamming Rigs " the temps get up a bit.

aWW I think you mentioned in a post about settling a planet with one race, say the Yor ,and as it grew the new pops were all your initial race. Actually it is a graphics glitch. Your additional pops show up graphically as initial pops but if you mouse over the icons the will all say i.e. "the Yor are blah blah" so the bug is not being the correct picture but it is the correct Race.
First this very early in the development process so crashes are par for the course. That said see Belizan's post in the next thread down. Then send a save game for this crash to them.
This is not meant as a flame aWW just my thoughts on your post pro & con For 1,2,,4,& 12 you can always play three[e digicons]B)[/e] On a serious note 1 This is growing on me in a positive light, it does stop bee lining to great techs. The tech tree is coming so you will know which option to choose for your goals. 2 Sorta agree/disagree. This is also growing on me. 3 Agree their are way too many 1&2 there should be many more 3&a
Remember this is real early Alpha so things are not always going to work as intended. I am sure the developers would love you send them a save game before and after this happens. No I do not know how. Would love if a developer could post idiot proof instructions on how to do this as this idiot is computer illiterate.
I was thinking before I went to bed that some player of the Alpha was going to spend the time to build the tech tree while playing. Never considered that some Alpha players were more equal than others[e digicons][/e] .
It wasn't her puppies that had me turn off FB. I could just pass over them. It was being notified to friend everyone of her friends, all my other cousins friends, all my siblings friends, all the children of the previously mentioned, all of their friends and all the friends of the friends of the friends of their friends. Say fifty requests each time I booted up plus phone pings. With the exception of a couple of dozen family members I do not care to know anything about the rest. Just
Signed off of my Facebook page before the reputed censorship of news, because I would get bombarded with friend requests from people I did not know nor cared to know. Did not help that one cousin would post multiple pictures of her dog daily. Like come on Cuz if I wanted to read about dogs I would have signed up for a Fidobook account.[e digicons]B)[/e]
This are my observations they may well not coincide with yours. Will add to these as I play more. Game one: Medium map, most settings normal, four major enemies, easy difficulty. At least three of the four majors were in the next star systems to mine. The fourth may have been to Galactic north, but space monsters ( at least three) destroyed my fleet before turn 55. In none of the previous versions did these things happen to me. Remember this is easy diffi
In my first play through I set size to medium had one planet of better than three to send my colony ship to as of the twelve or so stars in the system five were occupied by enemy faction at least three being majors. I am not sure if the fourth and last major was in this sector as my fleet was destroyed by monsters at least three of which were present. I would like to test this game but I was under the impression that this was a 4X game not a FPS. Hope the map editor is o
If you have the Civ2 complete edition then my favorite was the Atlantis scenario.
Many thanks to both of you, the size does not surprise me that's why I download games between 0200 & 0800 hours when I have 50 GB as opposed to the 20 for the rest of the day.
I play all my Steam games offline. My problem is I only get 20 GB of data a month when that is gone it throttles back to the old dial-up speeds of the 90s. So if I can play off line then every thing is Golden. Your answer seems to confirm that I can do this so off to Epic I will go. However it will be at 0200 hrs my time tomorrow when I am in my 6 hour window of 50GBs per month.[e digicons][/e]
I have satellite internet with download limits if I buy the game thru Epic will I be able to play offline? Would prefer informed answers not speculation please.
Pre battle commands similar to "gratuitous space battles" And then better descriptions of why things happened the way they did would go a long long long way. I do NOT want tactical battles.... no one asks Firaxis for tactical battles in Civ... tactical battles are for Sins of a Solar Empire... not GC
I feel if you want tactical battles you should buy a
Brad I ask only that you remember the KISS Principle and not complicate the game, just to put Bells and Whistles in the game. Features that are cosmetic designed to attract new players and do not really accommodate game play are my worse fear. I look at how Civ 6 has evolved from a game based on History to a half-arse arcade game when it put in Fantasy components aka Vampires and ported to the Xbox and other platforms that cant handle a well designed 4X game. I hope I can help
I am not sure that is moddable, Sensor Radius Hex.
Again thanks I guess at this time I am stuck with graphics as is. My play style is the reason this is a problem as I systematically explore the map manually so need to see that the route I am following is strait and the "Starfield" graphic is too bright for me to see this. Edit: Turns out a large part of my problem is caused by the ambient li
Thx
Settings your after can be modded by copying and editing StarboxDefs.xml.
Thx for this information. However with my computer skills if I tried to modify a file I would most likely crash the WWW before I figured out the solution I seek. I was hoping that there were settings in the options menu that I could use. I purchased GC III as a founder but only recently retried the game as the frequent c
The brightness of the star background and the multicolored sensor zones of ships having the same basic look make it near impossible for me to see where to route my ships during exploration. Is there a way to disable the star field so as to have solid black for the background and a lighter color for the sensor zone? TIA
Best Buy has a gaming desk top with an I7 processor and Nvidia's new 1080ti card for $1600 The 1080ti has 11gigs of on board mem I have a slightly more powerful rig that turn times for largest GCIII map and 8 opps is in the seconds.
Some of these are bugs, some are features that may have been removed, as well as odd things: 1. Multiplayer - Custom Races Don't Work 2. Multiplayer - Galactic Events Don't Work 3. Multiplayer - Ideology Points Not Spawning for created worlds (But Precurser worlds give ideology points) 4. Every so often one of my ships attack, the attack animation blows up and parts just float into space and keep floating. Turn keeps spin
