Playing insane, w/ 6 additional majors, and rare minors, rare pirates, other settings default. About 17 hours into the fray. I have about 55 colonies. I saw this in one of the betas as well, but did not see it re-appear after the next drop (then again, it could be because I restarted games w/ each beta drop). One noticeable symptom of the crash coming is that the movement of ships across the screen starts to get jumpy, not smooth as normal. I've gone through your s
That's not true at all... you can mouse over individual ships in each fleet and see which one has low HP. All you need to do is click the fleet and then hover over the icons of each ship at the bottom of the screen.
True, sometimes. I've posted this problem throughout beta and even into v.1 -- the HP (and moves) appears for a while, but after you play for a while (est. a couple hour
Can this be related to some weird behaviour I am experiencing? I don't have crashes - I can run the game fine, but every time I start Galciv III I get the Steam pop-up with the text "Preparing the game to run for the first time"....
Definitely a Steam item. I fix this one of two ways: a. exit Steam, then run the game again; try this first, if not, go to option be

Concur with the secondary sort. I would also like "Name" to be a secondary sort option, too (I have a tendency to name ships by model: BB, CA, CL... that Navy in me, I guess). Another wish (BIG ONE) -- I would love to be able to permanently (for that game) "obsolete" system-designed ships. I have always been a big fan of designing my own ships (big sell-point for GC overall), so the default Battleaxes and Snipers simply get in the way for my play style, and provide lists of ships I&#3

A couple more items: 1. ship/fleet moves and HP are not displaying consistently. They show on reloads for a while (estimate, a couple hours), then disappear completely from the game. This is problematic for items such as ships at planets/SBs under repair (not knowing when they are fixed), moves remaining, and ships in fleets that are damaged (knowing when to send them home for repair). 2. Diplomacy (oddity): I was at war with the Krynn (who hasn't been?), and am now at war

Some items I see that perhaps need a bit of work: 1. Ideology screen: Pragmatic/Vigilant/Prepared -- mis-spelling in this description: "...which produces a pragmatic points..." -- should be singular "point" 2. Diplomacy: when negotiating, the default "Offer credits" keeps shifting around. In one of the earlier betas, this amount defaulted to something acceptable to the AI, now the value keeps shifting each time you click on it, making it a frustration to come to agreement.

1. Ideology screen text still inaccurate: Intimidation Center, Preparedness Center, Missionary Center -- the description of these still say they provide flat points instead of points per turn -- please note this is ONLY on the Ideology screen 2. (wish) First Contact -- can the notification center on where this occurred. There are times when I get a first contact screen (e.g., Krynn visual pop-up), but the notifications note does not center anywhere. Often I can't figure out where

Continuing with the latest build: 1. (wish) ability to lighten(darken?) the nebula background. Sometimes it's too bright that it's hard to distinguish other on-map items (I recall GC2 had this ability) 2. On planet builds -- can you add the resource list at the top as you have in shipyards? Since there are now items in the build list that require these resources, it only makes sense to add it here, too. 3. Previously designed ships (custom races) -- ships I bui

Like many of the changes (or rather, updates) thus far -- just thought I'd mention that. Notes: 1. Custom races -- I've mentioned this before, and think it's still pertinent: why the heck do we have a Leader image we can select, but the foreground image is the one that takes precedent for displaying the race? Again, if I select the Leader image of either of the two human-like figures, the only option for foreground is the default human. Please add th

Like many others, I like the specialization, but I do agree with BuckGodot on the extreme worlds aspect. It seems to me we should be able to colonize varying planets.

Seeing that the launch is coming, I'm submitting some of the latest items that I've noted in beta 83: 1. Orphaned Shipyards: still seeing these from when a planet converts to another faction. The result is a orphan shipyard still "building" a ship but too far from any planet to get construction points. But, it still costs the faction to maintain it. Perhaps these should be dismantled, or perhaps be "given" to the faction that took over the nearby planet? <p

I have a game (insane galaxy), have included all the major races and allowed minor races. Several hundred turns in I've gotten a fatal error that reboots my machine (blue screen of death) in Win 8.1. Game is saved, but again the upload size is 32meg. This occurred twice in the game (reloaded after first reboot) and the fatal error occurred again w/in a few turns of the first crash. Will upload sys specs, but it's a very new machine I'm running on (one month old), high-end gaming m

Follow-up. To the queue, I didn't have a queue on this planet, so it's unfortunately not related to that. I did find, however, that the fourth tier improvement (sorry, name escapes me) was allowed, but the earlier ones weren't. Related to Hamilmac's note perhaps?

I noticed this in b2 as well. I have a couple planets that I cannot improve via terraforming construction. Every time (for these two planets) I choose to build one of the terraforming-like improvements (Soil Engineering, Planetary Soil Upgrade, Terraforming), the yellow site selection shifts to the colony hub and won't let me build. I have a save queued to one of the planets (idle planet), but the save file is massive (playing an insane sized galaxy). Any way to upload this?

Items still in Friday's beta update: 1. Gain Class 16 planet -- this is an ideology option; the planet I gained was only class 13. 2. Creating custom race -- when selecting image for leader, the images available for the leader (2nd row of options) are not all available for the foreground image. So for instance, when I create a race using the human-ish woman in silver outfit, I have to stick with the male human default figure because the woman is not available for foregroun

Didn't see this in the beta patch notes: 1. Barren worlds are not colonizable when discovering Extreme Colonization. 2. When I try to upgrade a Survey ship, the upgrade to list has around 20 repeats of the Survey ship. Very odd. Wish list: Fleet display (bottom-right), would be great to have a note there of the moves left for the fleet (like that which appears for individual ships).

I've spotted the following items and notes in the latest beta release (3): 1. Pop-up info boxes: these need to be expanded or set-up to scale; there are still instances where text runs off the top or bottom of box. 2. Terraforming Event: this event provides the option of gaining a tile in exchange for production reduction for 10 turns -- the terraforming never ends, and production across all planets remains -90% indefinitely. 3. Shipyard list of designs: we need to

I hadn't seen anything on Sid's new AC2. I'm not sure there will be much competition between the two -- at least in my mind, I've always seen the Civ series as a separate animal from

Part II of my observations 1. Humans, Earth starting planet -- just noticed that it is a class 12, but only 11 tiles are available (including initial colony) -- definitely missing one tile. 2. Auto-fleet creation? I had a sniper enter the hex with another, and the two automatically formed into a fleet. Not sure this is a good idea. However, I did note that if one ship is still under move orders (that is, if I've told it to go to a hex, so it will continue to move at
