Cool., an IP attorney. I have a question: If I have a provisional patent, but I let it expire because I simply didn't think I could recoup my $15k investment turning it into a utility--but then circumstances change and/or I change my mind--but after the provisional expired--where exactly do I stand? I assume I need to perform another search for other art, but...even then...what...?

Brad did put out a "job opening" to the board, for someone to come up with a GUI-based mod editor. And I think maybe a campaign editor? He said he would pay money for it. I don't know what ever became of that? I do know that I found the modding in Galciv3 to be obscure and limited. Maybe better than almost any other commercial game out there is doing, but still...I just couldn't wrap my arms around it artistically. I want to do X and Y,

My Galciv4 wishes involve a combination think-out-of-the-box and stick-with-what-works: 1) Keep up with the new technology. Galciv is not a mobile game, but currently my desktop has 3x 27" 4K monitors. I could even plug my HDMI into my humongous 4K TV screen if I wanted to. For once, I would like to see a strategy game truly take advantage of that and do it right. Galciv has multiple views, and I would like to choose each of my monitors t

Factories have always given Starports adjacency bonuses for me, but I remember the Campaign on Retribution was different. Sometimes for the better, actually. Also, Helios Ore mines have never benefitted from adjacency bonuses. The interface draws the little arrows implying that they should, but they don't.

They tried to design in extreme worlds and administration to avoid that. Usually I only found AI rapid expansion a problem on Incredible AI. And at that level it's kind of supposed to be. Actually, I exploit it: Precursor Archive bulb Planetary Invasion, pack a bunch of Prototype Hyperdrive on a single transport, and the AI can expand first all he wants as far as I'm concerned.

Space is just BIG. Space shouldn't have choke points, unless it is related to a space anomaly, a hypergate, or something. My issue with slow travel is only if it makes the game drag on and on. A bigger issue I see in Galciv3 is clear if you play a tiny map with all the settings set to max (particularly black holes). It's hard to get around. There were hexes on the edge which I simply could not reach, because they were blocked off by a Bazaar, next to a black hol

The games I play don't shape who I am. They are a diversion; an escape. However, all the time I have spent beating strategy games has probably made me a better technical guy, strategizing how to debug and solve problems. Similar to how FPS experts are better hand-eye coordination people. Speaking of this:
Age of Wonders 2
I played that, but I have played AoW3 much more. Steam offered a free downloa

It does relate, though, which is why I originally brought it up. You play an Echoing Heartstone or two, and your influence skyrockets. Tourism makes some obscene income off of that.

While that is possible, I was not using mods--only what Stardock gave me in update 3.7. Haven't tried it again recently, ever since Stardock said they found the problem which occurred only with the "right" set of DLC. The free AoW3 Steam download they had last week totally captured my attention.

Of course the resources need to be rebalanced. I was playing with the infinite-money bug, and I was still hurting because I simply did not have enough durantium. Xeno Factories would still be stupid to upgrade, WITHOUT the durantium requirement. Meanwhile, what is Snuggler Colony useful for? Couldn't low-class planets have some Durantium mines? Just like thulium mines. Or have class-0 planets which say, "This planet has durantium," and y

I've been around since Galciv1, and I don't think so. However, Galciv2 is the better game. I went to Galciv3 simply because I got tired of playing Galciv2 (that, and I didn't know Galciv3 was going to be so buggy). The story line isn't that confusing either way--it follows the same boiler plate as every other game out there: "blah blah blah blah blah....WAAAAAAAAAR!!!!!!".

I have a little 3.7 in the lower-right-hand of the starting screen. Not balanced at all. That said, I found the different gameplay new and fun, though a bit imperfect.

Not from an old save, nor with modded data. I know it is not an old save because my previous game (before that) is the one where I discovered the behavior. It is the game after that when I decided to revolve my game around that feature.

Build Port of Calls on every planet and max tourism. You don't have to research Interstellar tourism. It's obviously a serious balance bug, but you can fight fire with fire--the Port of Calls will give you 1 million credits, too.
