Perfect, so you wont see the componants visually? thats not a problem. It would be a small bit of work to save myself alot of time in the future. Ok , anyone able to point me to a how-to file on how to do that? Im pretty good at techie stuff if i got instruction to follow Thanks again guys, you really helpful making me enjoy the game more and more!

I would like the ability to 'liberate' a planet rather than 'conquer'. You see Snathi invade your allies planet. As a benevolent race you would liberate the planet and return it to it's rightful owners. -- I would like the ability to offer a 'membership' treaty to minor races. You reach highest level of diplomacy with a minor race and then can apply to join your civ

Yes when tech trading would be great to see if you have already specialised in a different field. I hate accidently trading for eg a Missile cost reduction tech then realising I cannot now get the ministurisation version!

I agree Thalan is OP when played as custom race. I usually play with a race with -20% maintenance costs, and +20% capaciity and +2 food. I wanted to diversify my games and offer a new challenge. The universe with Thalan tech tree is beatable on godlike even with AI tweaks. I am finding using Iconion tech tree the universe is a much tougher and more challenging place on Godlike. I am enjoying the Iconians special buildings and working towards

im doing an iconian game now... up to turn 72 just about to pop the '50 turns no peace' going well... love those fabricators :P I went on Incredible rather than Godlike though... felt since new tech tree and lack of thalans uber research & production thought I'd step down a skill level. Incredible still a challenge late game with AI tweaks. I hope... :D

@erischild I agree with you on the thalan tech tree I usually play on godlike and it's.taking along long time to get systems growing with iconian tech tree not using hives I'm miles behind the ai haha btw I need a multiplayer partener .....up for it? we can both play thalan tech ;)

This mod is amazing. Thank you...I always play with Extreme planets on abundant and normal planets on Rare... this certainly adds some spice to the game rather than finding continuous streams of frozen/barren worlds!

Started a new game as Iconians. There molecular fabricator is a bit different. Makes a change from full 6 hex squares filled with just Factories. Can now have fabricator in middle with 2 food, 2 research, 2 factory around it. Started on godlike, AI tweaks, and tech trading off this time. Might be a bit much without the Thalan hive/hyperion matrix for a slow start. Think I'll restart with tech trading on.... Torian sounds good too... I do like the idea of 'Living

So I spent awhile playing Gal Civ 3. I started with Terran tech tree, and moved on to Thalan tech tree. I think I've got both the Terran and Thalan tech trees down. I now want to start a new game with a new tech tree... any recommendations please? Which is your favourite tech tree and why? Obviously I love the thalan hive/gaia vortexx for that raw production boost.

Hey all, I want to get myself involved in regular multiplayer games. I'd rather arrange a game with a dedicated player than take a hotseat with a random. Anyone up for it? I can beat the AI on Godlike even with AI tweaks installed...so would be up for fighting agaisnt a human for a change. Only really like the bigger maps though, so I know how long this will take, so need a dedicated opponent :)

One thing I notice, is when you conquer a new planet you have the ability to build One per emprire buildings such as Capitals a second time. After invasion, I notice you have the ability to build the capital on a world always belonging to you as well. Enabling you to have two manufacturing capitals for example.

Hey guys Thanks for the advice and tips! I designed some specific Guardians(Medium hulls) with fast firing Kinetic weapons and some Escorts(Large hulls) with high defences. The enemy assault fighters from Drengin carriers go straight for the Escorts and the Guardian frigates stay beside my Capital Carriers and protect them. While this battle with enemy fighters is going on around my fleet (Carriers, Escorts, Guardians) My a

I know what you mean... I like to have a balanced fleet http://oi68.tinypic.com/35auomp.jpg Here you can see I have 4 Huge Hull Battlestar(Capital Carriers), 3 Large Hull Assaultstar (Escorts) and 2 Medium Hull Gunstars (Guardians) In GalCiv 3 I find it's a good combo. The escorts soak the enemy weapons, the guardians shoot anything that comes near the carri

Ok, So sometimes I make a carrier Capital if it has decent weapons, sometimes I make it support role. Should I always use support role? From your above post I see a mixture balanced fleet is definitely the best solution. I'm going to start building a selection of decent well-armoured Escorts and also start putting at least 1 Guardian module always on each of my carriers as well as having Assault Fighters.

i have specialised in kinetic tech too is why im thinking guardian modules on carriers would be better defence vs other carriers
