This makes me crazy every time I see it... quickie fix? "Missile Miniaturization" is misspelled "Missile Miniautrization" Thanks!

After installing Retribution and starting a new game the newly added improvements have wonky names. Edit: Oops, sorry about the double post.
Still hoping to see enemy ai settings staying persistent between new game sessions instead of defaulting to normal :-)
One suggestion: when starting a new game, the 'quick start' option should retain your last-used game configuration--- specifically, the enemy ai settings are not retained between games and always reverts to normal.
When I have a fleet with a survey ship attacking a defended anomaly I sometimes get... uh... anomalous behavior. If the attack happened at the tail end of a turn where the turn would automatically end and go to the AI turns, I get the attack prompt but then the turn ends before it's resolved. When my turn comes back around again the anomaly is still there and I can still try to attack it--- but nothing happens. The workaround I've found is to send the fleet to an adjacent hex to the anomaly a
Since starbases can exert enough influence to flip a planet, it would be good to show starbase influence on a tooltip... buying starbases is cheaper than buying planets :-)
[quote who="joekraska2" reply="61" id="3682359"] Latest update broke (Steam) game. I disabled mods, and attempted to run. Also won't work. I reverified the game cache, and tried again. Also won't work. Symptom: Steam starts the Stardock launcher. I click "Play". The steam window comes up and says "Preparing to launch Galactic Civilizations III". That window pops down, and it goes back to the Stardock launcher. I'm uninstalling and reinstalling next. <br /
They might have had a mutual protection pact, maybe?
I second this list, especially the first item. Carpal tunnel doesn't look like much fun... scroll wheel sensitivity could be a slider added in the options somewhere.
[quote who="a0152570" reply="12" id="3680795"] Quoting a0152570, reply 3 edit MapSizeDefs.xml and change MinCameraZoom. Increase it for each map size to limit how far you can zoom in. I had to do this to prevent crashes on a computer with V old graphics card as said abo
I'd like to toss in a request for this as well. I don't have resource/playability issues on most of my computers, but I just prefer to play the game in its entirety using the zoomed out iconography. I have nothing against the pretty stuff, but the game is more playable for me when I can see more stuff onscreen with clearly delineated borders. Maybe just add a checkbox to entirely disable the pretty graphics or add a slider to change the render distance.
Maybe this is also behind the 'alien x wants to talk to you but are currently trading with someone else/wait or decline' messages.
I had all three influence-boosting mercs parked on a planet so I could politely acquire two planets owned by another civilization. Even using influence-boosting planetary improvements the influence area was so trivial I ended up just invading the planets toward the endgame. I didn't keep track of the influence points, but there was clearly something amiss there.
Pretty sure he means techs...
Same here. Another possible side effect of this seems to be several times when I start to move a constructor into place and try to build a starbase--- the option is not greyed out, but when I click on build starbase it tells me it's not my turn. I have to end the turn and wait.
If you've moved to the fast ring and are on 16199 it won't work. I posted the issue on the MS Insider forums as well and a Microsoft rep acknowledged the issue and said he would be adding it to their bug tracker. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_games/some-games-not-running-with-build-161931001/5510c0c0-49d3-4b9d-b208-c53dcd015b4f
That's odd. If you were on the release ring before it should work--- I don't have any GC3 launching issues on my computers running the regular 1703 release.
Good to hear. I'm still on 16199 and Windows Update isn't getting any newer builds just yet for me.
No bueno yet...
I just started a new game after today's (5-19) patch and I'm 45 turns in. I transferred a scientist and a worker to a planet and they are both marked 'in transit' on the citizen screen. I see no reference to any lost citizens, so I'm stuck on this lost citizen button. I can't transfer a citizen in transit again so the transfer button is greyed out.
I posted this issue on the Insider forums and I got a reply. Sounds promising: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider_games/some-games-not-running-with-build-161931001/5510c0c0-49d3-4b9d-b208-c53dcd015b4f?msgId=f43e0d6a-3daa-46f4-aa3e-213ec3304b28
Okay I'm glad it's not just me, annoying as it may be ;-) The other games I run on my laptop still work, but I don't have that many to test. Thanks for the corroboration, though. I'm sure it will get sorted out, and who knows? ---with Build just over we may get some faster Fast Ring updates in the next couple weeks with some of the new features and fixes creeping in.
Just seeing if anyone else has this issue. I keep my main gaming machine on the release ring of Windows 10 so it's not anything catastrophic (in a first-world-problems way), but my laptop and another computer I run with the Windows 10 fast ring updates. Since the last build (16193.1001) and the most recent GC3 beta update GC3 will not launch at all. No errors, no crashes--- the Launcher comes up, I click Play and then... nothing. I don't use any mods at all. I've done these troubleshooting st
Yeah, I read that somewhere. The problem is I can't find them anywhere to promote them...
I was trying to add a new Administrator citizen and Crusade told me I had too many idle and I needed to assign one to a planet before I added more. No problem, I thought, I'll just go to the citizen screen and... hm, nothing there. I went to a planet, tried adding a citizen, and... nothing there. Sooooo now I have planets I need to colonize and things I need to build but I can't make any progress. Am I missing another new UI element to assign administrators?
