This has happened to me and it was caused by including ship class(es) in a ship style that were not recognized by the game. It was two new designs that I had added. I think it is a bug that they didn't validate but I fixed it by replacing them with previous designs.

[/quote] Yes, and the better players beat the AI consistently, in spite of the omniscience. The AI is so stupid it will always blunder the game away regardless of the advantages. In fairness to the AI, many (not all) of the wins are accomplished by using a formula that some would call exploitation.

Had you cleared the fow for those planets? If so I think the AI can see what you see and vice versa. Maybe not but I think so. What level are you playing? They claim, and it seems correct to me, that the AI does not cheat on normal. That is where I usually play. I have beat the AI on higher difficulty but it is not fun to me when it seems the AI can virtually rush buy everything.

That was rather vague. Mostly the tree choices. When it is the colony events, I feel compelled to consider the positive and negatives vs the morality of the choice. When you think about it, that is the way it works in real life. What are you willing to do (or not do) to get the great deal. I can understand the penalties in the colonizing events, but when you are in the tree the good or bad choices have already been made. I would prefer that tree choices be positive e

I am using the mod and I like it. Needs some work on the text problems and of course it will be better with further development. It has definitely elicited different choices. The only criticism I have is that some of the negatives are so severe, in game, I avoid the choice based on that negative vs my opinion.

I would like to mod dead planets to be minable for durantium/thulium/promethium + occasionally some of the minor resources (no anti-matter) at a higher return than the standard resource. Maybe 5x or 10x depending on how rare the planets will be. The main thing is to make some of the hundreds of dead planets have some value in the game.

I love this game. It is my favorite all time game which I have been playing in it's various releases for nearly 20 years. With GCIII/Crusade I am like the kid playing with a broken kite. I created a new civilization with a fleet consisting mostly of ships that I designed, (I just used the defaults for the specialty support ships). The civilization saved and I played a game using the civ with no issues. Next day I started up the game and got an error message that the ship style for my new civ was not valid and would not be included in the game. I love it. The choices present some really tough decisions that create real immersion in the ideology choices vs the "cartoonish" malevolent choices and the "goody two shoes" benevolent choices. Can't wait to try it.
