scara_monga, your mod doesn't work for me either. Having a quick look as to why, it may be that some things are still needed. Maybe a FactionAssets.xml and a Portraits folder with a Portrait image. I haven't the time to go through and get it working, but I will share a faction that I have made that works so you can compare things. I was having trouble with StarsSystemDefs also but learnt from Dumhed's mod. If you add with the KerbolStart internal name might help you like it did me. Can't say for sure that's it, but could be worth a try. KerbolStart KerbolS

Someone asked this question on one of the Dev Streams a while back. From memory here, so I may not have perfect recollection of what the answer was, but I think they would look into it at a later stage & it might require a change in Stardock's licence agreement with Rad Games or something, to make an additional proprietary file type that modders could use.
