Thanks for bringing me back up to speed...time to get it on!

how actual resources like promethion, anti-matter, elerium mining works, if you would. Are they replenished over time, or are you only allowed one for each source that is mined for the duration of the game. Also if one of your ships so equipped gets destroyed, does that give you the resource back? It would seem to me that mining is a way to keep renewing your stock, but it doesn't seem to happen in the game. Info appreciated. Thanks
Is there a way to set the homeworld of tradeships other than when they come straight out of the shipyard? I thought you could reset the homeworld to a different planet than just one of the shipyard sponsors, otherwise it would seem like you need to insure that one of the sponsors is a designated trade capital to get max bang for your buck. Having played II, I thought I remembered a hotkey to redesignate homeworld origin...could be wrong though. Any ideas/comments on how to redesignate homewor
I thought of that and played two more turns out but get the same result that the Iconians still have a positive though minimal point count (4) on the power graph and timeline. I can see no holdings left anywhere on the map...ships, starbases or anything...go figure?
Okay...I was within two planets of cleaning my opponents clock when he (Iconians) surrendered all of their assets to Arceans. I am allied with all the rest of the major players but the victory screen insists that the Iconians still exist. I can see no Iconian assets anywhere on the map, but in the timeline and in the graph section they are not at zero like the other three opponents I exterminated. What am I missing?
Thank you soooo much!
Can anyone give me some directions on where to find the above? Or, is there a way that I'm not seeing of deleting them from the Designer itself? Thanks [e digicons]8C[/e]
...thnx again...worked just as advertised @The Sisko. Never ever too old to learn [e digicons][/e]
...wit's end, I can find nothing on steam that prompts me to enter a key from Stardock. Where should I be looking? I got the key from 'the dock' but no further instructions on where to go to enter other than Steam which I find enigmatic as to how/where to enter a key. Specifics for we who also stand and wait...thnx in advance
I am not able to shutdown a shipyard without the planet(s) assigned coming up idle thereby not allowing me to end my turn. I have tried to use the govern function but I can not get the manufacturing portion to zero out even though the slider bar indicates that 100% of production is going to social manufacturing. WTF!! Everything works great on planets not assigned to shipyards. What am I overlooking? I've tried removing planets from the shipyard, too, and that doesn't work either
...still doesn't help, but thanks anyway. Instead of messing with this, is there anyway to delete user designed templates in the designer? If not, where might I find them in the files so that I might manually delete them and start over again clean?
Having problems with the symmetry functions on designer. Sometimes the 4 buttons light up in the Edit box for certain parts that are highlighted and don't for others. My main issue is whether the buttons are lit or not, items are duplicated when adding them to hull, like engines, armament, etc. with no way to remove without removing the first placement also. I often try and place another similar item on the duplicate and this works most of the time, but too often it takes the patienc
...sort of leaves me frustrated. When AI realizes that it no longer wants to fight, you are left with two choices...either let them off the hook (FOR FREE) or tell them to pack stardust because you want to exterminate every last one of them. Why not allow them the ability to pay their way out with technology, ceding the planet currently under assault, ship(s), starbase(s) or credits. As it is I always feel rather unfulfilled after beating the opponent down just to let them off
If they become a vassal nation, they just go on taking care of themselves. The payoff is that they ALWAYS vote for you in the United Planets stuff, and every half of a Star Year they tithe you a research or "x % of their credits on hand or BOTH! Who wants the micromanagement when booty is better? You might have to decide whether to defend them if they get involved with some other nefarious AI, but hey, that's your call for another day.
Quite honestly, unless the faction that is surrendering is allied with some other faction, they should surrender to whomever is pounding them to stardust, or possibly become a vassal to them for the remainder of the game. The way it is now, it often makes little tactical sense when another AI gets territory clear across the map from their primary location. Makes defense a bit of a problem particularly if they immediately have to defend it. Just sayin... [e digicons]XD[/e]
