I wonder alot about this, too. Can someone make a case for specialization on a planet (e.g. all factories, all research, all influence), because right now I build balanced planets with a bit of everything on them.

I'm using a brand new game started after installing opt-in Beta 6 and restarting my PC and Steam after doing the install of the beta.
Yup, have been reporting this since 5.3
I can definitely relate to this--my process is identical when handling idle shipyards, so it would indeed be very helpful to know exactly where a shipyard is located.
THIS. It would also be nice to have a mini-map view when you are abruptly whisked off to a planet somewhere within your vast empire in order to build improvements ("idle colony")
Agreed.
0.90 is the latest version...
You've added numbers to the diplomatics aspects! I asked for this some time ago - thank you. The numbers still don't make sense though: (5) for +3 and (-8) for -3??
Diplomatic stance typo: "You are trading with an infadel"
Lol, I pointed this one out a while back...(it's the proofreader in me :)
On loading a saved game, every one of my planets/shipyards/starbases has a green shield over it, yet I have NO ships orbiting these things (I saw this bug in 5.3 too) This is due to the fortification ability that has every planet/starbase defended... Not a bug working as designed.
Thanks. But they only appeared after I loaded a saved g
Bugs In the Colonies tab, production icons are in the wrong place. Requests The Defended icon is yellow on the planet list, but green on the map.
I noticed both of these.
The AI has declared war on me - for absolutely no reason
1. Some planets aren't filling the circle in the planetary list completely:
And some planets are filling it *too much* (i.e. spilling out of the circle)
I run everything from maxed out strategic zoom, so never see the ships, so can't comment on that I'm afraid. But I like the new background lighting.
I'm playing "Gigantic" or the next one up from Huge
The shipyard build time really shocked me. I was ready to report a bug!
You mean this is WAD?
I think it taking 75 turns to build a shipyard is way OTT
Dear Stardock, You gents rock, thank you very much for this new beta. I am enjoying my game as the Iconians. There is much improved in the game compared to Beta 5.3. However, I have noticed the following: - Shipyards are taking me 35-75 turns to build. Really?? Is this WAD? - Diplomacy seems screwy so far. Thalians declared war on me for no reason whatsoever, refuse to even speak to me, and yet our relations are given as "warm". - Have noticed a few typ
Agreed on all points.
but so far, Brad/Frogboy has only been saying "this week", even in his post today, so I'm now not holding my breath... [e digicons]:([/e]
Yes, I noticed this too...
1/6th? So it's going to go from using 4GB on huge maps to less than a GB?
I can tell you 4 gigs is NOT enough. I had 8 gigs and stuttered on HUGE. I changed to 16 and left my page file ON, and set to 24 gigs. I run insane maps smoothly now. Get more ram, its cheap enough and all your applications will benefit, not just GC III.
Quoted for truth.
Like in the Total War series - make x number of payments for x number of turns/weeks. At the moment weekly payments are indefinite, I like that less. I find it less realistic and less concrete. Also: the penalty for breaking a treaty seems a bit low at the moment. Thoughts?
I like!
Thanks, sounds promising :)
