Hopefully they've fixed the infinite loading bug as well as *ahem*... having the requirement for additional monetary transfers, but hey I gotta admit I like the effort to add an entire new species in. Well, upgraded to major. I'll be getting it, so even if the game's not fixed for /everyone/ yet I own the DLC to play at a later date.

Love the look of the new race and shipset! The insectoid yet inorganic style is something very new. Even in actual Sci-Fi it's hard to come by, since for example in Doctor Who which you draw inspiration from they don't (too) often do organic looking ships. I've been getting an infinite loading bug or something in my game, even in saves or maps with 0 mods in use, so I'm hoping that gets fixed by the time GRM 1.4 comes out! I'm getting the galaxy loading screen thing on any load of an existing game. Different cause, same bug or whatever it is. Makes the game a lot less playable TBH. Also Pirate Shipyard difficulties. I've validated the game files and got it up to date, and I'll check the campaign modes to see if people are getting random difficulties unique to them or if the game is broken. Edit: Just checked. It is a little weird for ships given to non-DLC-owners to just be, essentially, templates with gaps in them. Personally I think the best way would be for mods (via direct downloads or as user content from the Workshop) to have all parts visible. From weapons like Franco said, to actual content packs like Petri mentioned. I don't think they shouldn't show up, I think they should be there for everyone. Thanks guys. Well, I don't think I'll be using the DLC parts then, seems I have quite a few parts only my personal designs will be using. I wish it wasn't this way but I can't imagine Stardock even has a solution that isn't randomly giving away the DLC parts which would be silly. I'll try not to include them in shipsets because I don't want some players to see gaps when using them in their own games, even if some players have

I'll keep this simple, which is unlike me... Say a shipset contained pieces from the Founder Parts, or the Mega Events Pack (which I just got, though I'll miss using the old mega events without risk of OP robot invasion) then someone without one or more of the DLCs used got the set, or heck, simply saw a ship with the parts online, could they see and use it? I really want to use DLC parts in one of my shipsets, but I don't want people to see holes, or the ships not

The thread started slipping, sorry to not have a real answer but I'm genuinely curious so I want to bump it a little. I don't think it's possible because it's actually part of the game, but maybe there is a file inside one of the databases and many folders in the game directory, so I'll try and look through those for some hint...

Thanks for the replies everyone! I'm going to use a system of dead worlds for now, and slowly try more and more changes until I find the point that makes the faction unplayable, and set the line there. It is a mod faction BTW, not a faction file with separate content added as mods. So that sort of throws the 'only possible if you are using xml files' concerns

Woot! I looove the new faction and ship set. Didn't think someone could be more hippy-like than the Iconians, but then the crystals came... Interface, map and ship colours can all be modded to have new ones. For example, the Xitak interface is a strange deep yellow and red theme. If the mod's done right they will show up when making new races... Not good for multiplayer but free to do/download yourself.
