Ah nice stuff. Looking forward to more. A thing that kinda bugs me though is that the AI is (still) colonizing chanceless planets like Mars. Besides it being slightly annoying to the human player it's a waste of a good colony ship by the AI. It always gets converted because of Influence.

You have to research planetary invasion before you get access to transports!
Thanks Rhonin, it works now. Not incredibly intuitive though as I selected a planet and went to create a commonwealth from the colony screen, so I assumed that it would automatically include that planet in the commonwealth. But then I DO have to select it again from the list. So it works, but it could be more intuitive.
Until now all thing which happens in intrigue are just changing values of different mechanics in game for a couple of turns. There was a crises with a space monster what destroyed a planet. Yes the planet was gone but I never saw a space monster. In fact values changed really happens doesn't anything.. But take a look at steam reviews. Mostly positive BUT nearly all good new reviews are from short term play
I got the message that Commonwealth could not be created because I hadn’t assigned a capital. I couldn’t find where to set the capital. Didn’t crash the game, but felt like a bug nonetheless.
Oh great news, that’s next week already! Really looking forward to the new expansion. Game has become so much better after Crusade. Those new mechanics look to add a lot of extra depth.
I agree. I love Crusade and all the changes they've made, but approval is a big black box. Every tooltip perfectly explains how you get your research, manufacturing, etc, but appoval, no idea why it is so low. No idea what the exact effect of an approval building is. This would really help.
Yep, that's it! Downloading it now. Thanks. :)
Great! But I can't see it yet as an opt-in yet in Steam.
I got to play my first 50 turns yesterday as The Slyne in a Large galaxy with 7 normal opponents. Boy what an enjoyment! Almost all of my GalCiv III vanilla pet peeves are gone. This is really getting close to my ideal 4x space game. 1) No more min-maxing through sliders! This was my biggest problem with GalCiv III. Having to set these and constantly tweak these, but still having the feeling I'm not doing it right. It was too tedious, so I stopped bothering, concluding in me playing a
Bring on part 3 please. Yeah, I'm counting down to the 4th. I have a feeling things won't go as easily as the cocky humans think... What could possibly go wrong?
Ah great, loving these! Argos surely died a hero. Let's hope it was not in vain!
Ah finally we have a release date. May 4th! That's next week already.:)
Why doesn't very soon feel like soon enough? [e digicons]>_>[/e] Anyways enjoying these daily Journals.
This is looking really great. So many great improvements, it's gonna feel like a complete new game. But when? When will we get a release date more specific than (early) spring?
Yeah! Welcome back CariElf. Remember you very well from the GalCiv 1 and 2 days!
What a nice surprise! Some very good quality of life additions here.
I'm glad the micromanagewheel is gone. I always forgot to update it and was always struggling for the exact right setting. For me the game is much more fun now. To each his own I guess.
Thanks jvdouglass. That did the trick for me too. Never had to do this before but it worked like a charm.
I've been using opt in patches for GalCiv 3 from beta on and never a problem till this time. If I select the 1.3 optin in Steam it just won't trigger. The patch won't download no matter what I try (verifyng cache, reinstalling game, remocing mods), I keep being stuck at v 1.2. Any clue what causes this? I've seen others report this too in the 1.3 patch thread on this forum and on the Steam forums.
Would be very interested to try this out, sadly Steam wont donwload the beta no matter what I do :-/
Same problem for me. Tried everything from verifying cache to deleting local files to disabling all mods. Nothing seems to trigger the download. :(
Nicer Explosions, but not as impressive as what I would expect from a Michael Bay production [e digicons]:)[/e] Cinematic Camera seems to be broken, it just gives you top down view. Free Mode does "seem" to be more forgiving and easier to control, atleast when you select it, your ships are in front of you, and you arent panning around to frickin find them. That Michael Bay part really made me [e digicons][/e] [e digicons][/e] Looking forward to test! Lots of nice changes incoming.

It will work on an SSD without any problems. It really shouldn't make a difference, besides the fact that you're loading times will decrease by a fair amount. I'm running it on an SSD and it's working like a charm.
