Very cool! I do like how I was saying in a different request thread that stuff like the news network should be in the game, and lo and behold, you guys and gals were working on just that! And people in that thread thought it was silly fluff. Anyway, I'm intrigued (wait, that's actually an unintended pun in this case, whoa) about how this will play out, for sure. I assume there won't be any new races since you didn't feature any in the trailer though. Which bums me out a bit. I

So I've been thinking a bit more on diplomacy and how it could be made more interesting, and I figured that this might be the thread to add my thoughts on this issue. As I understand it, the next expansion is meant to upgrade this aspect of the game which is good, and I don't really know what the devs have planned, so who knows if any of this is already on the docket or not, but I figured I'd go ahead and pitch these ideas out anyway. So first, I want to describe the scenario

So since both replies talked about this request, for some kind of additional layer on fleet combat, I guess I should narrow my focus make my arguments here on this issue primarily:
First of all, welcome to the community! [e digicons][/e]
Thanks for the friendly welcome!
3. Fleet battles (and invasions): The question is, What does it bri
1. All (colonizable) planets are currently renamable. Left click on the planet in question, and look at the lower left corner summary pane. Hover your mouse over the name in that pane, and you can then click to rename it. As far as individual faction-based names, well, that's pretty far down on the list of things to do. I'd also presume it's a non-trivial problem to come up with "faction appropriate" names for every single one

So, hi everyone! I'm new. Just got into GalCiv3 recently. And I know this is all probably super presumptuous of me (I'm only on my 2nd game in the main game mode so far) but I've been thinking a lot about this game over the last few weeks and wanted to pitch in my two billion credits (what I assume b.c. stands for?) in for some feature requests on anything that might be in development for the game going forward. Currently, I've got most of the DLC, so I'm up to date on most of the fea
So the new update sounds good and I look forward to it, and of course the upcoming expansion. I think it is interesting that you mention diplomacy and various mitigation that you are currently not showing the player... Why is it interesting to me? Because it relates to yours (and others) recent commentary regarding UI and "ease of intro" for the new player. Here is my short list of what is really hurting GC in te

So, um, hi y'all. I'm just getting into GalCiv3 and the Stardock catalog more generally (also playing OTC now too) and I'm really enjoying these games. But I wanted to toss a few bugs I've found at you in the hopes that they get rectified in any upcoming patches or DLCs that are on their way. So, first off: 1) Diplomatic Achievement produces diplomats, but also borked and tries to produce celebrities. Cultural Beacon, as a result, cannot produce celebrit

This is desperately needed. Both in terms of ship designed ships in the general sense, but also when attaching limited use upgrade precursor elements to a single ship. It's a bit ridiculous to have to design a whole new ship in order to incorporate a single precursor missile pod I get from an event where I chose pragmatic or benevolent from a precursor site or planet. I should be able to retrofit a current ship and just add on the precursor weapon. Also, precursor weap
