I'm also not a fan of this change. I loved to watch as minor races went about their business. I remember at least one game where a minor was nearly as important as any major race.

Thank you Brad! Looking forward to the new goodies :)
It is the most fun I have had since Gal Civ II.
This is good to hear. GalCiv2 was my favorite game, and GalCiv3 has always been fun but not quite the same level. I'm excited to see what it's like to play.
Great news, thank you!
I would honestly be happy with an update that we won't get a beta for some time. We only had Mercenaries for a short period before it came out. I just want to know what's going on and what we should expect. That said, a beta is preferable :)
Clearly at this point we should start to put some pressure on Stardock. Unify, organize, and really let them know how we feel. We could call it... a crusade for Crusade. :P
This looks very interesting. Looking forward to a playable run once it's out.
Brad said that we will have access. Whether that is a beta or not is semantics. It surely isn't full release.
Founders aren't public.
Quoting Taslios, reply 3 So when do founders get to play it? will there be a beta period? I would say mid February.
Isn't it stated that the Yor were filled with evil by the Dread Lords when they were given sentience? I'm fairly certain that is stated somewhere.
I'm noticing the AI overreact to influence now. I share no borders with the Altarians, but they are extremely upset because of my influence over them.
Well Interceptors have a niche role, they go after guardians and escorts first and then after supports. If the AI built a support ship with 35% fleet jamming, fleet repair, carrier modules, (and little or no escorts in the fleet) ... then interceptors might be a reasonable addition. Maybe if you try to snipe invasion transports in a suicide run, too. But I never tested the latter. Interceptors would be useful, if the AI did weird th
I may be 'doing it wrong,' but in a recent game I added assault ships to my fleets of Capital and Escort. They are ahead of the rest, so they got shot at first, but I had loaded defenses onto them so they didn't die. Once the Escorts got into range, the enemies seemed to redirect their fire onto them. This allowed me to generally keep more ships alive than otherwise would have happened. Still haven't figured out what to do with Interceptors, though.
I noticed that too. I'm running GRM, so I wasn't completely certain the mod wasn't doing it, but I definitely noticed this.
Are the xendar menace and guild mega events?
I'm guessing not, but I definitely support this as an idea.
In my current game, I'm going down the Benevolent tree, and when I used this buff it was placed almost next to its star, outside of my home system. However, when I reached the Class 16 planet, that was placed quite distant from its star (which conveniently was my home system). I agree that it should try to be closer in, but maybe its tracking how much clutter there is and trying to space things out when it draws the new planets.
I've got the latest version of the mod running, it's been working flawlessly so far. Hope life calms down for you, Gauntlet!
Downloading now, thanks! I figured it was safe, just wanted to let you know the problem I was having :)
My browser won't let me download it, it's getting flagged as dangerous. Any chance of using something like Dropbox or Onedrive?
Looking forward to using these, they look good.
I've had this problem for as long as I can remember. In one case, I conquered a planet by invasion, but it was still within the enemy influence. The next turn, it was already showing as rebelling. That turn, I conquered the other planet in the system, pushing back their influence. The warning never went away. While 1.71 might make it more blatant, this bug has been in the system for quite some time.
Just downloaded the mod, so far I'm liking it. Love the description of the different races. I was wondering if there's any more that you've written up about them and published somewhere, it seems like a good story.
When I first found the Wardell system in GalCiv 2, I was super excited (it's my last name too). Haven't seen it yet in 3. Too bad it died.
Reviewed, while I feel it's a small expansion, everything there is fun. Thanks for a great game.
