OK, so I have been playing with Windows 8 and 8.1 for the last few weeks. I got a bit feed up with the Metro UI so I installed Classic Shell. Got confused about all of the options so I installed Start 8. Easy to use, it does what I need. Looking to buy Start 8 here soon. So my question is what is Metro for when I use Start 8? Just a watse of hard drive space and coding? Oh, Starkers - Windows 8 is not faster under the hood than 7 in my experience so far. Painfully slow.

Yeah, WC has always been the slowest page to load for me for some time now. Facebook loads OK, but lags when scrolling the news feed to the point that Firefox almost crashes.

Jafo - are you still using Windows 7 as your OS and refusing to use 8? I am curious... To everyone else - any bad side effects from using 10 as a main OS? Buggy? Expires after so long and will not boot up any longer?

I find it funny that some had to use a third party partition resize program when almost every Linux distro out there will do that for you and it's built in.

Starkers, as I have told you, 8 runs incredibly slow on this setup, even after all updates and proper drivers are installed, and upgraded to windows 8.1. It hiccups along and programs slow down and almost freeze. 7 did the same, just not as bad.
