So after following a few tutorials I actually managed to get Windows 11 installed on the Mac. Runs flawlessly. Very stable. A bit more stable then Windows 10. I even managed to get my old games to run on the Mac, even a few of the new ones.
So earlier this year I bought a new desktop. Came with Windows 11. I quickly found out that I don’t really care for Windows 11. So I installed Windows 10/ everything worked great. However I know Microsoft is ending support for Windows 10 next year and I don’t wish to pay for more patches from Microsoft or any third party. So I starting thinking outside the box. I don’t want to learn how to use Linux. No flavor of Linux has ever worked for me. Steep learning curve. So I bough
You have joined the dark side, I see.
Sorry. I can't stand using Windows 11 and they are ending support for Windows 10. Everything else I own is an Apple product. Just made sense to switch to a Mac.
I tried the latest version of Windows 11. Not for me. If I have to use a lot of third party apps to make 11 look like and work like 10 then what was the point of 11? It seems everything is backwards. Especially the awful start menu. I would like to see my app list, not pinned apps and documents. Fonts are off a bit. Colors are off a bit. I'll just stick to 10 until I get a new Mac later this year.
I bought a new computer. Came with Windows 11. Installed Windows 10. Windows 11 doesn't off enough new features for me to justify switching. When Windows 10 reaches end of line next year I hope Windows 12 is ready. Probably just switch to a Mac.
Bit of an update. This morning all the "New" highlights have disappeared. Thank you for the assistance.

Yes I have. Several times.
Yes I have tried both suggestions. No luck yet. The "New" badges are still there. Maybe a bug in the program?
So I am using Start 11, latest version. Using the Windows 10 style. No matter what I do, the "New" tag is on some of my recently installed items and never goes away. Is there a fix for this?
I ran SFC and it found several errors. I also did the registry hack. So far the widget has stayed off. Thank you!
I'm using the exact same version of Windows you are using.
DrJBHL I do that everyday. It turns itself back on after the computer sleeps or reboots.
No. I've searched everywhere in settings.
Sorry about the picture, I can't figure out how to rotate it properly. I'm running Windows 10 Home. As you can see on my taskbar there is this "News And Weather" widget. I don't want it there. I have tried the right click menu on the taskbar and turned it off. After a few hours in sleep mode it turns itself back on. The widget always turns itself back on af
Well everything from Microsoft has been really annoying lately. It all started with Windows 11. Went downhill from there.
I obtained Windows 11. It was installed. It appears to despise my inbuilt video card. The taskbar app icons are all grainy and distorted, and the system does not display pure black anywhere.
Exact same issue I had.
Tried 11 again about a week ago. Still has the same issues I had the last time. So until this PC dies or Windows 10 no longer is supported by MS, I'm stuck on 10.
Looks like I'm gonna hit the 21 year mark here pretty soon as well. Funny how all this time has gone by so quickly.
Windows 11 will not become the dominant OS in the years to come. Word of mouth drives sales and many people have a bad taste in their mouth from either running 11 or hearing it's crap. I think we will see Microsoft extending Windows 10 support for a few more years and moving the end of life date out to 2030 due to 11 having such a small market share and staying that way for the next few years.
That is why I am here. I learned to love Windows 11 only with Start 11.
I've tried several times to use 11 on my current PC. It's about 10 months old, runs 11 just fine. As with all new things, it makes me dizzy when I see a new layout. There is something strange at work when I use 11 on here, the fonts aren't as crisp and readable as 10, and the whole display seems not as sharp with everything.
