I just reinstalled this game after a several years' absence. Some of my planetary improvements are missing their proper names. I don't have anything that modifies improvement_defs.xml. What am I doing wrong? (Basic Lab, Factory, and Trade Capital all were missing it. I did put a copy of improvement_defs.xml in my mod folder and changed the name to just Factory, and that fixed it, but I'd rather not have to do that for every missing improvement. It also doesn't fix the m
The first one is the planetary project list. If you scroll down and pick a project, the list resets to the top instead of keeping you where you are. This is particularly annoying if you're trying to repeat build some of the placeholder projects like Aid Research, or you're trying to set up a tech or commerce capital and are trying to build a bunch of research or market buildings. So I stopped playing GalCiv for a year or so, hoping some of the little issues would be addressed by the time I picked it up again, but two of the most annoying little issues are still around. Is there a fix or workaround that I've missed? The first one is the planetary project list. If you scroll down and pick a project, the list resets to the top instead of keeping you where you are. Not sure if this has been mentioned. The Dreadnought is listed under Kinetic ships, but only has Missile attacks.
Careful, I hear they itch.
I think it's in a different location for the DLC. In Galactic Civilizations III\DLC\DLC8_AltarianProphecy\Campaigns\AltarianProphecy\Game I have a AltarianProphecy_FactionDefs.xml. One of the sections has this: APMission1_Terran_Tree Which I think is in Galactic Civilizations III\DLC\DLC8_AltarianProphecy\Campaigns\AltarianProphecy\Game But I'm not sure how to mod an i
Mentioned in another thread--any planetary improvement whose tech is given to you as part of the pre-crusade campaign is unavailable to build. So, example, if you play Altairan Prophecy, you can't build factories, farms, or research labs.
We are looking into this for the next opt-in update (e.g. not the one we just released).
Will that one fix the missing improvements in the pre-Crusade campaigns, too?
Is anyone getting flickering when they zoom out fairly far? I'm playing an Insane/Ludicrous map, and when I zoom out, the icons on the planets (for planet type or ships defending) wiggle like bobble heads. And when I set ship destinations, their paths wiggle like a jump rope. I haven't played in a couple years so I don't know if this was happening pre-Crusade or not.
I'm trying an insane map with 5 civs. Should be interesting :) I always find maps way overcrowded at even half the recommended # of civs.
On the Colonizing event Study the Precursor Elevator, there's a typo. Basically "colonies" should be "colony's" as the usage is possessive, and not plural. Latest version as of 5/9/17 with opt-in patch.
Can you, or can you show me how, to fix the issue where the pre-crusade campaigns are missing any building whose tech you automatically already have, such as basic factory and farm?
Yeah it just crashed for me too. I haven't been able to get mods to work for campaigns yet. So I guess I should ask again--does console cheating to make up for lacks disable achievements? :)
Which file do I need to replace with what?
I know I can't fix it directly with the console, but I think I can compensate for it with the console. I just need to know if using the console will affect achievements.
Anyone, on that last question? I think I can use the console to make up for shortfalls but I really want the campaign achievements :)
Hmmm and not fixed after so long? I think I begin to remember why I stopped playing for a while ;) Would cheating via the console to fix the issue block the achievements?
Just re-started playing GalCiv 3 after a long hiatus (2 years or so). I'm trying to play through the campaigns again, and I've noticed that if I don't research the tech--as in, it's already researched and given to me--I don't get the planetary improvements the tech gives. For example, I don't have the option to build a Factory, or Research Center, or Xeno Farm. Is this intentional or is it a bug? It makes it harder to up my construction and research, and almost impos
WinRar should be able to handle 7zip files.
I swear I remember doing this without starting a new game, but it's been 2 years so *shrug*. Might have been GC2 I guess.
Well crap, that was a huge waste of playtime! I swear I've done this before and hadn't needed to start a new game. *sigh* At least it's working now.
Did you start a new game after installing the mod?
I didn't. Is that necessary, now? It's been a while since I played, but previously, just exiting and restarting the game was enough.

I'd really like to be able to set governors to build specific improvements in a specific order like you could in previous games.
