Maybe ideologies could be declined by two ethical axis, the axis of good and evil, and the axis of order and chaos. Like some sort of ethical alignments , if you will.

I always assumed that within a single game, you had to vary between going wide and tall depending on which phase of the game it was and which race you were playing. For example, you rush to expand, then you consolidate for a while, then you have a number of strategical options open to you: teching, trading, focusing on military buildup or making allies or going further the expansion phase with the extreme colonization tech. This again varied depending on your civilizati
3) As I mentioned on the other thread, I think some impassible terrain (up to a certain engine type) is a good idea to give the map some definition.
Isnt this already a thing? Because thats very important. Asteroïd fields, ressources and nebulas already contribute to map definition. Planets and range, too.
Isnt this the sadest case of an awesome game being botched for the worst reasons or what. R.I.P Troïka.
Since I chose not to play the Alpha, I'm gonna make pointless topics like this from time to time, to keep us poor plebs informed. =]
Generaly speaking, GalcivIII is really just the GalCiv II they always wanted to make now that the have the technology. Apparently, its 1/3 the same, 1/3 improvements, and 1/3 new stuff.
Nebulae are great. They look a bit awkward from afar because of the hex tiling, but that's probably unavoidable and at least it's very clear. From close-up, they're really gorgeous. Varrying the colours a tiny bit would be great. I'm an amateur astronomer, and deep space objects have some colors you might want to try . Mechanically, I find their bonus interesting but they could be more awesome. This sensor-blocking effect could also
I hope my intel 4000 graphic card will be up for it.
So is anybody playing that game now. The forum is kind of silent. Maybe that speaks for itself.

Modding races is fun :3 we must have been separated at birth. Lol. "if your not with me your against me." I make my factions based on novels and role play, I also used custom tech tr
I had a lot of fun customizing everything at the exception of the tech tree. Maybe it just me. My goal was to make it AI playable, but the AI was terrible when it was at the helm.

OMG I CANT STAND THE WAI- oh wait I'm not a founder or anything. Carry on.
Neat. The custom race I spent the most time working on had pretty much the opposite working; very good early colonization and economic bonuses, high pop, fertility rate and moral, but low research and very low diplomacy and influence. The only way to survive late game was by managing to build an economy of scale in the early game. Did you have any original tech?
What custom factions are you planning on creating? What inspired them? How are you going to represent them in GalCiv III? Personally, I'd love to see something based on the Engineers from Prometheus.
I'm watching my bf going through the HotS campaign right now, and I'm delighted to see him cringe like he should. Seems that there's no need to appreciate SCI to see that SCII is garbage.
UnleashedElf - I agree. Although I think that merely being evil or good would not change the "nature" that a civilization would practice its democracy. As I have postulated, the act of being "Evil" does not mean the practice of Democracy has been destroyed. it merely would mean that "Evil Policies" would be voted through the democratic process, not that the government was inherently evil. I understand that this li

I found it time consuming. I want my Protoss and my Borgs *now* damnit.
Thanks a lot for the answer. This makes me hopeful that we might, maybe, see a game mechanic where distance and size needs to be managed and taken into account for the management of your empire.
Creating custom techtrees was a giant pain and I hope this gets fixed.
You fool. Galciv III will be just like Galciv II, only better and different.
Why dont we have more information on this. ;(
