Thank you. I am connected to Steam so I assume it's up to date. I did a test earlier. I got over 500 planets from an Immense map with mostly abundant choices. This sounds like the numbers people are posting.

Thank you Island. But I had 1.02 2 nights ago. I read they released a fix to the Immense issues. It's still 1.02. How do I know if it's the most recent version? I believe Larsenex mentioned 1.02.4?
A little help please. Larsenex tried to explain how I find out which version I have installed. He lost me, lol. How do I open Steam, and then check GalCiv3 for version. In game it says "1.02." I want to know if I received the fixed patch during the night. Thanks anyone.
Thank you Larsenex.
Question...I'm set up to automatically receive opt-ins. Each time, I've turned on the game and my version has simply changed. My current version is indeed 1.02. Can I assume it is the "new" corrected version this thread has mentioned? How can I tell if I received the update/fix in the middle of the night if all I have to go by is a number? Thanks.
When I hit "Quick Start" to begin a game with the same settings as the last one, does EVERYTHING stay exactly the same? Specifically, when I set some AI factions at beginner, some at Normal, some at Gifted to give my galaxy some variety...do they stay that way each time? I'm not sure, because when I choose "New Game," everything is the same EXCEPT the levels of the AI factions. They all revert to beginner. Anyone notice this? Any suggestions?
Little help please. I didn't "opt-In" to 1.02. The game updated by itself. I'm actually happy about this, because it saves me the trouble. Question is: If I choose to "Opt-Out" of a patch, How do I do it?
Wow, Thank you! If I knew how to give Karma, I'd give you one.
Exactly, this would give us a chance to add "minors." I'm actually more excited about the prospect of coming up against a REAL Ideology choice. You have to expand. There is a choke point ahead. It is the only colonization worthy system in the foreseeable future. They DO NOT want contact. No treaties, No alliances. What do you do? Conquer? Wait? Go around? I think it will add a nice flavor to the game. I realize you can build a star base. This is just another option I think would a
Ok, I feel very foolish. Did I miss something? There's a manual? Where?
Yes, but isn't that the code for "Minors?" They don't colonize, so doesn't it at least partially exist? Please pardon my ignorance, I have no "modding" or programming experience. Thank you for the positive comment. Entertaining is what I was shooting for. [e digicons][/e]
Thank you. I imagine it would be an easy, and in my opinion, quite logical addition.
I have been creating quite a few custom races for the AI. Something dawned on me...we have the obvious "Expansionist" option. This makes sense. We certainly want AI Factions that come for us, lol. However, virtually every type of sci-fi centered around space civilizations includes those races that don't want contact. Why is there no "Isolationist" choice. I'd love to come across a faction that is just as advanced as mine, or more or less so, who don't want to join the interstellar
Does anyone know of any source to get the portraits of the minors from Gal Civ 2? I'd like to add the Akilians, Caranoids, etc., as...well, minors. I intend to give them negatives for most traits and set them as "beginners." I've found many write-ups on them, so that part will be easy. Any help on the pics? Thanks.
What is the option, "Quick Move?"
Also, if the sound card is causing it...how do I remedy that?
Thank you for your responses. Illauna, what exactly do you mean by "big screen mode?" I only know of one screen mode, the default one. How do I check if my sound card is causing it? Thanks in advance.
My computer won't go into sleep mode. The only recent change was activating Steam. Can Steam keep my computer from sleep mode? Should I disable it? Will it have any affect on GalCiv3 if I disable Steam? Thanks anyone.
So...I'm using the Altarians as my base ships. I create new ships for my custom race. They are saved and available every time I use the custom race. I run into the Altarians, and they may be using my ships? It could be worse. That's really no different than right now. I run into the Altarians and we are using the same ships, lol. Thanks.
Can we create, and use, a full set of custom ships for the races we create without having to mod? In other words, is there a way to save the ones we create in game, in the shipyard and attach them to our factions? If so, how do we "group" them together like the Terran, or Drengin ships? Thanks.
Again, thank you.
Thank you so much. Will this effect my updates? Also, do you recommend disabling Steam? Thanks for all your help.
Thanks for your help. I guess I'll wait for an update or solution. My computer gave me a message saying Steam was slowing down my system at start up. I'm going to disable it and see what happens.
Thank you. If I turn off Steam, obviously I can still play GalCiv3, but will I still get the automatic updates? Is it a simple matter of opening Steam from time to time? I guess what I'm asking is what are the benefits to leaving Steam on as opposed to the issues if I turn it off? Thanks for your help.
