JA2? Geez:D, I played a WAY too much in game itself, addon, mods of all sorts (including Wildfire)... I still remember patrol routes in some sectors. And I agree with Cyclone_Jack - every "spiritual successor" was a failure. Some were playable to an extent and/or had some interesting details, yet apparently few cared invest required time into developing decent version. Frozen Synapse is good, but it's not quite JA2. Great game, great memories. If you like ta

Yeah, I like GC3 GUI, it's clean, clear, and intuitive. The only problem I have so far is somewhat thin font in certain places, like overall funds numbers, for example. I'd prefer to see a bit thicker font there.

While browsing through submitted names, I wonder, why if we have Gagarin and Armstrong, we have no Tsiolkovsky, Oberth, Goddard, Korolyov? I admit, I don't have spare 500$ to buy more elite founders edition to name at least these people, but maybe devs could increase their basic list, to honour
Being fan of games like Jagged Alliance, and tectics genre in general, I love this game a lot. As previous posters said, there is demo/free weekend, so you can try it out. Quality, (re)playability, fun, challenge are all present and accounted for.
Anyone else have this desire?
Yeah. Very much (so relax, much peace). Having "peaceful" mode is a double boon. First, it allows me to enjoy building/shaping process without (b)locking enemy first in games which are not exactly a "builder" genre, like old Sins of a Solar Empire, where we could play without opponents and do any form of stupid things. Not that I don't like "builder" genre (hmm, I wonder if it affected my choice of occ

You just reminded of the "Guild" series.
Judging by LH (if I'm not mistaken), they also know risks of grown empire.
We have a way too much "serious" games which aren't serious, nor funny. So I'm with Eric Frank Russell's Minor ingredient - we need humour, because there is deficit of it. And I actually find GC to be mature, because their mix of seriousness and humour is well adjusted.
Having a map with limits is balanced however; if you hide in the corner, you're less exposed to trade routes and you have to invest more to expend, while the invest is true if you're in the middle.
Yet your routes could be the longest, and to extent, more profitable.
