I'm just wondering where characters fit into this? (Generals, Admirals, Spies etc..?)

Fun-wise I kind of equate this game with X-Com, where graphics are cool, but gameplay is lacking. The main difference being that X-Com at least had the kinda sorta cinematics to keep you interested in what you were doing instead of the repetative mechanics. Strategy - the 3 weapons vs the 3 defenses is boring as hell after 20 minutes. Tactical - The lack of a decent planetary invasion scene and zero tactical interactions makes this level boring al
Quoting Rhaegor, reply 14 Pretty disappointed myself, and I am very surprised (not really, because most reviewers are terrible) by the reviews. Ok I am going to be as polite as I can. First sorry you are disappointed. The game pl
Yeah I think the modules are just to change up the "mode" between interceptor or assault.
Yeah I gotta say I am quite curious as to why developers decide to release when they do. Especially in a game like this where the developer has made boat loads of money in past games and can (or at least should be able to) afford a decent production cycle on the next game. There are bugs in the bug tracker that have been there for weeks (some of them are just typo's) and yet noone fixed them before release. Why release then? You'll only ge
Can I make the drones from scratch and use them in carriers etc ? Can I do this with constructors ? I would've thought this would be a negligable kind of mechanic to flag a particular blueprint as the "default"...
Hate to say this but if a portrait keeps you from playing the game, then the game was probably not for you in the first place. You never heard tons of men complaining they could only be a woman character in Tomb Raider, Mertroid, etc.
Game is totally all about the portraits dude.
I thought it would be a bigger list but thanks for sharing. can't wait! [e digicons]:)[/e]
Same. Lots still needs fixing.
Yeah sorry hadn't had my coffee yet.
Yeah I mentioned that 2nd bug a week or two ago too :\
If you go into a factory, select a "prototype" of any kind - including custom, then build and make the factory continue to build them - it will completely ignore the fact you've run out of mineable resources to build the ship and you'll go into negatives for that resource and still continue to build.
Obviously, if you "copy stuff back" then that's the problem.
Fixed! thanks! I already had cloud saving off (altho I guess that's another copy of that directory). Was that an issue with previously saved ships or something ?
Patch installed, I could load my save, but decided to go for a new game. Tried a custom race, ctd when universe was being made. Tried terran, same thing. Checked file integrity. Same thing. Anyone else getting this?
Is this the bug where your screen goes black and video card resets ?
Most of us (I would imagine) if we had a choice between 10 pragmatic points that adds 25% research to a planet and 10 other points that don't on a planet that has 50% research bonus already, we'd choose to stack more research in order to make this a major research planet. Unforunately at the start of the game you can have quite a few colonizers in space at once, it can be hard to understand which choice you are making for which planet. It would be very nice to s
Yeah it just seems like beta is really alpha, release is really beta and expansion 1 will really be release...
I'm not worried about stardock, I'm worried about the player base.
Thing is - the player base doesn't change, doesn't matter whcih game it is, they always act the same. Stardock know this going into game development and should be managing perceptions accordingly. p.s. Still waiting for that bug that makes the screen go black when getting into com
As it can get you into a LOT of debt, it should really show the amount you're about to spend. I just got into 120k debt - basically a game ender right there... (I didn't realise how many of those mk1 ships I had).
Just to add to this, it seems to start at 95% and then doubles for every level through adjacency that you add to it. Seems pretty high, but I'll take it atm ;)
Dunno about you guys but I tend to go the Pragmatic route a lot. Something I noticed with the more fleshed out (but still way way too abstract) planetary defense, is the % of the Preparedness Center. My 2 Military Academies are sitting linked to the Prep Center but not to each other. They each have a resistance of 10% (seems low?) However the preparedness center is at 380% (at level 4) which seems ... absurdly high by comparison ? </
As topic. Sometimes, you have a bunch of early tiny ships that just aren't worth upgrading en-mass and also aren't worth the maintenance (even the small amount) to keep them around. Would love to be able to command then to decommission by the model of ship.
I think it will do exceedingly well. The interface and graphics are awesome. The AI is not some scripted PoS. It's multi-core therefore you don't have to wait too long for the computer players to take their turns. Still being worked on - I'll be happy when we see some DLC and major updates. (I know it's just being released, but I kinda HATE planetary invasion atm... it's way too abstract). Those are some
Ah ok yeah that makes more sense then. Was kinda hard to understand.
This reacts in the worst way possible. Starbase starts at the back, support ship about half way towards the enemy, then the enemy. Support ships turns a bit a couple times but basically goes straight at the enemy - with no weapons - and dies miserably. Suggestion: Put the support ship BEHIND the starbase.. if it's at one.
