So, the infromation warfare part. Why not use biological warfare. Ive never seen it not be 100% effective and it does 0%dmg to the planet itself.
I'm still learning how the game works. There's still very much I don't know. In fact, Galciv3 is the first game in Galciv series that I spent more than 3 hours playing :D I have only tried information warfare but haven't tried biological warfare

I just recently learned that a planet can be irreversibly ruined and never regain it's class. Very Sad. :( Why can't sectors that is destroyed be allowed to restore by spending planet's production to restore the lost sectors? This makes me sad. I don't like planetary invasions anymore. And this makes Information warfare the superior and only one to pick if you want to preserve planet's class. Bleh bleh bleh. Needs to be fixed. Look at Stalingrad. It was utterly leveled, bu
First biggest improvement to Starbases is the implementation of Request Constructor Button. Good job there. I wanted this exact thing when I was playing Galciv2. Second biggest improvement to Starbases. Have them actually fire their weapons at attacking enemies while there's allied fleet defending it. Aka participate in the combat not sit on their asses and watch cartoons while there's a battle raging. Th
Turn 1, I immediately colonized the planet Mars, and then check the distribution of hexs then noticed.. Paradise Hex. Paradise on a planet where its dust can kill you good and dead. lol'd.
I see.. my specs is Intel R Core TM i7-2600 CPU @3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz 8192MB Ram. What's my bottleneck that needs to be fixed to play on insane map smoothly? The ram alone? The PC i'm playing on was originally bought to play only PSO2 alone, but .. we all know how that turned out. Never came to usa.
So how do we get the developers to pay any attention at all to this thread? Is the only way around here to be loud and obnoxious and then you'll get a response? Calm and considered is ignored, it seems.
I'm reasonably confident that stardock devs has seen this thread. Only way to not see this thread at all is to not even go to the forums at all in first place.
My Rig runs fine on Gigantic map but suddenly starts to lag in first few turns for Immense map. Thus I'm curious of what is the needed specs for Insane map.
Well joeball, any kind of improvement to current invasion system will require an increase in clicks. There is simply no way around it, because it is currently very bare with super minimum possible amount of interaction. And that addition was kind of what I'm thinking of and I tried to make it more clear because I kept the first post simple enough. Only way to decrease the amount of clicks required is to have the planet surrender the moment someones fleets point their guns towards it so th
joeball, if a planet require at least five winning battles, you still can take the planet in single turn. And the current system ingame without my suggestions already gives a preference to taking planets in a single turn and it really changes nothing. And if I'm not wrong, currently planetary defenses can recover after being attacked if given time to recover anyways. You probably need at most two transports per planet under current system. What it changes is that yo
How many battles should it require to suppress a planet, crush it beneath your iron heels?!?! And hear the lamentation of their puny folks! A planet with that starting domed city + two farms and a shopping centre + research lab for example would require only one battle at starting domed city to end in your victory to bring it under your control. Farms and a bunch of mall rats cannot offer up meaningful resistance to your stellar marines and orbital bombardment so they s
To take a page out of Warhammer 40,000's book.. Planetary Governors is given free reign over the planet they control, as long as they don't commit heresy and skip on delivering their tithes. Failure in their mandatory tasks has them meeting unpleasant ending with new governor being put into their place. Humans of the Imperium in the Warhammer 40k that is lol.
Hey, that was my favorite library! How dare you steal my book collection~! You better hope that I don't catch you sitting there reading my books!
Managed to solve it. Set up three waves. First wave, Drone fighter spam. Second wave, Assault fighter spam. Third Wave, Laser battleship spam to deliver the killing blow with Crusader now that annoying screen isn't in the way anymore. I've been smashing my fleets on world of Horizon, its the last one left to take to finish this map. After several hours and 306 turns of failure. I gradually realized that the world looks like it's defended by lots of carriers. I think I have to unlock carriers just to smash this last world. And it's been trying to build shipyard and i've been blowing it up every 2-3 turns. >.>
How'd I even lose this fight at all. My two Surveying battleships that was better than Drengin's ships in hp, attack and armor. In every single stat (by a really tiny margin) and I lose? Unacceptable. :P That fight was my Two Vallequie ships vs two drengin ships. How'd I even lose anyways. Then the surviving 92 hp left sh
You might want to build farms to boost your population: the more you have in addition to cultural buildings, the less likely you are to lose them. Don't forget to keep approval high as well, it boots influence generation. Low morale planets are more likely to defect.
If they are too close you might lose the planets due to cultural influence. Depends on their influence and yours of course...
I snagged both Tortoon and Arken but lost the Erwin to talaan culture. So I'm pumping up the culture on both planets in attempt to get Erwin back because I did the fighting for it. Tortoon was considerably easier because it had base 10 influence but Arken is harder one. I held
Wait what, 5% chance to take over the planet of Tortoon and I did it on first try O_o
Won't DOWing Minors also help to increase war monger negatives towards you? That being said, if you need those planets and it fits your game plan go take them but be prepared for a pissed off Thalan as now you'll be sharing borders as well.
Well I've been sharing borders with Thalans for like 200+ turns now. I sent them several trade routes. But t'll be good to prepare for just in case three
Ah thank you! I needed someone squishy to practice on first. Thanks :)
There's a sector next to Thalans that has three great worlds controlled by two minor civilizations, if I was to go and take all three would that piss off all my neighbors? I'm thinking of civ5 level of penalties or is there none? Because I'd like to slap the Marauders around cuz they keep on complaining to me. And the second minor civilization named Arken actually managed to expand to another world, I didn't think they could do that. So minor civilizations can expand t
Ooh I see what you mean now Rectunator. Thanks for explaining it to me. That addition might make Galciv3 combat better. Although whether of it will totally break the combat AI or not remains to be seen.
Looks like a bug to me.
Instead we should have more control over the fleet BEFORE the battles with fleet formations and ships with set roles that assist the fleet when they are in their spot in the formation.
Isn't taht currently available in the game at the moment?
