We have some fixes coming this week: https://forums.galciv3.com/462989/page/1/#3534099 and in-case this patch doesn't cover your issues. We are looking at more fixes for MP in patch 2.
Thank you for the report. It is on the list to fix that the game exits in a more clean fashion.
That is odd, were you able to figure out which file it was?
