Thanks for posting! The way to get the Ascension gate is by building the Research Cloister improvement then upgrading from there. You have a good point and we should change that to make that more obvious.

I made sure to note the other issues that you mentioned. :) In reference to this issue: "2. Building a Starbase from a constructor with 2+ constructor modules will consume all modules." We have made a fix for this issue, at the time it was found too risky to put in this current beta. Rest assured, that the fix will be present in a later Beta.
