Once I get in the game as in starting GC!!! from the stardock launcher all i still see is Crusade wording and no Intrigue... I ran a validation and was missing 3 files... Started a new game and still after first colony nothing asked about needing a government.
Did you see a new splash screen on startup? When you settled your first colony did it prompt you to choose a government? If not it's not installed correctly. Try doing a "verify files" in Steam.
I got the new splash screen... I believe. Steam shows it is installed but no, I did not get prompted for a government when I settled my first colony. Right now I have about 12 and I do not see the tax sl
I purchased the DLC and started a new game but do not see any changes to the game? What am I missing. I do see all the files are downloaded and is in the proper areas. Do you not see any changes until a certain point in the game?
I second that proposal.
I prefer the turn based game system. I can easily multitask with it. I take my laptop to the workshop, piddle in there and play turns, go away for a bit, come back and play a turn or two. The turn based game lets me play more by being able to play turns at my leisure as opposed to having to keep checking on the game status in real time. And yes, I am having as much fun as you!
That error message is telling you that it is deleted but have a civ that has that ship style on its template. You need to change the ships set of that civ that is trying to point to a deleted ship style.
I had that problem a few builds ago. First try validating the files from the main menu settings. I had a ticket for it and the fix that Stardock gave me was simple and worked but for the life of me I can't remember what I had to do. Easiest way is contact Stardock. They were very quick in replying and coming up with a solution for me. I know one thing that will cause that is if you have custom Civ's that have ships set to them and you del
When I try to edit full XML from the Civ. builder, it opens the XML file in IE, which will not allow me to edit anything! How do I change this?
Right click on the file and go to the "open with" function and use the program you want to.
What's the point in Minor Civilizations, really, now you have Mercenaries that can actually work for you? Since Galactic Civilizations II, they've only existed so you can get a few bucks out of them and then when you're tired of that, to invade and kill to get their ONE CLASS 16 PLANET because that's all they ever did. Sit in their home world. Okay, in GalCiv 2 you could chat, but what did that actually mean
Issue resolved... Thank you very much and appreciate the quick response.
Ticket submitted. Thank you.
I deleted a bunch of Steam ship content and now get many pop ups of "Invalid Ship Styles" I can understand for my homebrew civs that now may have an invalid style because of this but I am getting this for Drengin, Torian, Altarian as well??? I have not touched game files. I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it to no avail. Any help would be good.
I have to say GC III beats out the Civ editions. While I did enjoy the looks of Civ 5, the game play was ok and the AI was terrible. Civ VI bored the crap out of me and the graphics took a large step back. The engine was very slow too, with playing only 6 total players the game after 15 turns slowed to a lagging halt. I am running a i7 7700 quad core with 32g ram and an GTX-1080 vid card with 8g gpu ram.... Yet, GCIII I get blinding turns. Find me another 4x game out
The sticker price of games has stayed the same or even gone down over the last 30 years. I remember paying $35 for the Legend of Zelda in 1986. That fact tells me that the current crop of game purchasers include a lot of spoiled brats with entitlement issues. I would prefer to pay more for a solid, bug-free game, but i understand i'm in the minority and that its a tough market to swim through.
I am currently on turn 126, gigantic map with 62 civs. Turn length is barely a two seconds. I have a laptop with 32g ram, GTX 1080 vid card and quad core i7 @ 3.2ghz. So far so good.... I am running at 1080p as well. I guess I will find out shortly if the slowdown happens....
Question for players, why do you play GCIII? It is an innocuous question and I shall elaborate. I was playing the other day and thought about my actual game play. I have over 1000 hours playing the game and have only finished maybe 3 games to the end. Don't take this as a slight to the game but I get a lot of enjoyment over other aspects of the game besides the actual game
Your number two statement is somewhat mute. You already can add as many new names or a completely new bank of names to citizens if you edit the Civ....
I had been waiting eagerly for Crusade to come out. While I am quite proficient making Civ's and messing with the XML files I am not very good with making ships, even though it is fun as heck... As the thread title suggests where are all of the ship sets? I really thought that when Crusade hit many of the creative designers would have been hovering their fingers over the send button. On Steam I see about 14 versions off Terran Shipset and just crap after that...
I already was using custom ships in the Crusade folder for my home made civ... A bigger problem is that I did not mess with Drengin at all. Not sure why that core race is affected. I did not delete any ships from game files.
I get a custom race I created and Drengin race that when I fire up GCIII Crusade it says they are invalid in ships sets and will be set to default. Weird thing is that I have never messed with Drengin. I have used the validate game function but it is still doing this. Any ideas?
My 4k is 28". That means I'm slightly less on a piedestal than Frogboy. Also, imho, 28" is too small for 4k.
I guess I am bad. I only have a 17" 4k screen... On my laptop. Oh well, someday I will be cool! Ha
You hav e to go to the Crusade folder to edit its Global Defs... as in this... C:\Users\Ed49663\Documents\my games\GC3Crusade I had to ask earlier as well. :)
Thank you!!! Found them. Much appreciated.
Gameplay. It isn't related to Crusade one way or the other. With the changes to Crusade, I can probably make the map bigger. That said, it's pretty disheartening seeing Crusade at 41% because people think Crusade is changing map sizes. [e digicons]:([/e] http://store.steampowered.com/app/527070/Galactic
Does Crusade use a different Global Def XML? I tweak a few things in it and I do NOT see changes to factions. For example, I have created an over powered race for testing in my game, i.e. 40 pts of abilities and 5 traits but will when playing around in Crusade with it I am not able to save as it tells me I have too many points allotted. I have checked the GCIII Global Def and it has not been overwritten... Where can I find the "new" global def, if there is
