The removal of the global slider was, IMO, the single biggest improvement in the entire expansion. Man I hated that slider so much. It was such a chore and it made me feel as if my planets and my whole empire really was less a product of the worlds and their specalties and more an amorphious blob that shifted on whim. Plus so much micro management.

On a similair vien the auto continuation of the aid research 'building' (or other 'buildings like it' is driving me bonkers. The worst is with station garrison. You tell a planet to do that only to realize a bit later that the planet now hass all 22 of your legions garrisoning it instead of the 3 or whatever that was your intent.
Personally I would like to see some more game impacting mega events. I actually feel GalcCiv II Ultimate was better in this department in terms of sometimes having mega events that really changed the game. Might be a good idea to make them come with a flag so that players can decide if they want to have such 'big events' in their games or not. When I say big events I'm thinking stuff like more effective space monsters...maybe whole new races from beyond or a race that comes into existence by

[quote who="ZombiesRus5" reply="18" id="3681092"] Quoting Alstein, reply 13 I think the reason you're seeing the expectations of consumers of games (largely millenials and younger) becoming tough is a combination of higher competition on Steam, and the effects of late capitalism. Simply put, the public is so squeezed
EDIT: Hmm - I was replying to a post asking for locked in Ideologies...thought I hit reply. Anyway that is the context of this post. I really like that you can pick from all three. In some cases I play races - humans for example - as pragmtic with good tendencies. A majority of pragmatic with some good ideology. From a more utilitarian stand point I always want to do an Influence Voctory when playing the Krynn and the only real chance of pul
Certianly a bug...at the moment the kludge fix is to save and then reload the game. I think it has something to do with to many resources being tied up by the AI or some such as I get this bug only after I have been playing for some time but once it kicks in it never goes away until you save and reload.
So having played a nonsilicon race I am left wondering if maybe the Silicon races don't deserve the adjacency bonus. That food of 3 to have a city is a real cost. Two tiles to make a single city with just the initial farms. 5 Durathium is pricy at start but its a one time payment and it is hardly crippling. Could it be that also giving them an adjacency bonus might be too good?
I'm currently addicted to the Oynx as well. Bit sad that I can't feed that addiction with this most recent update. That said I sure love all the improvements we have been getting.
Wow...even really big galaxies are itty bitty teeny tiny. I was pretty shocked by just how small the galaxy I was playing on was and I boosted up to the next size and yet it feels as if I went down at least one size. I'm concerned that with the increased 'density' my computer won't be able to run a galaxy two sizes larger (which I think would be around the same size as what it was under the old version) which would be very frustrating as these really small galaxies jus
