Why focus on Research in late game when I have 90% of tree already researched? I want to move that citizen to Military. People change jobs all the
Will we trusted founding fathers get an opt-in of the current Crusade version to play, now mid february? Did Brad mention that, or did I dream again?
They usually release updates on Thursday or Friday... My bet is Feb 17 will be the drop date.

I've never seen anything like that. I suspect that this is the effect of a mod and not the base game.... that is if it is a genuine screen shot and not something highly doctored to make a point.

I would love to see the UP have an update too. United Planets will meet in 1 turn. Vote will be on X. you have one turn to convince everyone to vote for you.. bribes, threats, trades.. and appropriate penalties for breaking trust... It's really annoying that there is no way to even try to sway the vote...
+1 agree with all points above. The research/economic/culture treaties should give the benefit to both parties. It is described this way in-game, but the xml code only applies to the receiving party of the treaty. For general diplomacy, something similar to the diplomacy missions from SINS would be nice. Offer drengin x credits to take out specifc starbases/planets. Would add

Hours spent playing GCII and GCIII Too many to count.. Hours of that time actually spent designing ships... also way too many to count. The ship designer is not needed to make these games fun to play... but they are some one engrossing way to make me forget how fast time does indeed pass when having fun.
I think the new invasion system will cause a lot of problems. I mean problems like this: I want to invade a planet. Is it defended or not? Who do I send - soldiers, regular citizens or specialist citizens? How many? If it's not defended, it doesn't matter. If it is defended and I don't send enough invaders and lose, all will be killed, and I just wasted my efforts and people.

I agree whole heartily. I am a founder because as my former roomate likes to joke "one more turn"... oh.. ok um "one more turn".... right yeah going to bed now... just "one more turn"... crap that thing out there in the sky.. that's the sun... it's now up again... One more turn.... Pretty much describes my experience with GCII I bought it right away... got each of the expansions as they came out and really really lov
I really think that just eliminating the over-lapping stacking effect of economy starbases would go a long ways to cutting down on the constructor/starbase spam. In other words, just make it so that colonies can only benefit from the effects of 1 starbase. Just that one change would alleviate many of the problems of tech research snowballing too fast late game, problems of the AI not being able stay anywhere close with player pr

I still support a soft cap rather than a hard cap.. Administrators represent free to build starbases.... once you run out starbases cost 1000 credits to build and say 25 to 100 credits a turn to support.... This can be reduced with research but never eliminated. if a player just REALLY needs that starbase, they will be able to build it. But at a loss of revenue or other options to spend money. &nbsp

So... how about a happy medium.. In GC2 certain starbase components had a cost associated with them above and beyond the cost of the constructor needed to build the component. Because GC2 was on a grid based map rather than hexes it was easy to put a Max number of starbases per sector cap in the game, and it WAS capped. This lead to balance that is not currently found in GC3 Just because you can do something doesn't mean you SHOULD do it....&n

Hey Brad... first thank you for all the work you do. As you nitpicked the ship designer a bit in this post... can I direct you to this? https://forums.galciv3.com/480848/page/1/#3659595 I really wish the game would see a ship design that we upgraded from a pre-existing design as an UPGRADE that we could then go into the ship

You are both right. One of the things that has bugged me about the way the Ideology system currently works is that it is very very dependent on map size. The different size maps should play differently However the tools in the game should be balanced so that when a player is making choices the size of the map does not automatically choose for them. I think the Ideology trees need a lot of help to actually work right... &nb
I have a lot of thoughts on this as I took a look at how this was coded. Basically, imo, it's backwards. The AI goes into a planet already deciding what it wants to build and then tries to find the right tile for it. If it were me, I would look at the best tiles on the planet and then use that to decide what to build.
There has to be a empire wide balance/need look back function t
