Hey, Thank you for writing this huge post up. I'm going to add some comments in the below quoted area. Anything in Green is added by me. [quote quoting="post"] I'm just a lurker here, but do have some considered feedback to share. This will seem quite negative and critical so I have to be clear that this is not a review - it's an open feedback post intended to be constructive criticism. I have 535 hours c

So just a random thought. Cities never upgrade. You can stack bonuses but the city themselves never get any better. Given the population/morale balance why not have a late game tech that allows cities to upgrade (at high cost, lets say a whole bunch of a whole bunch of resources) to Metropolises

So i'm much more of a casual gamer these days and tend to not mod much. I had a bunch of custom ship designs back in Base GCIII that have all vanished in Crusade. Is there any reason why I cannot copy those templates from the base folder and drop them into the Crusade folder?

I hate espianage... I hate that people seem to think that it makes games better. There needs to be more you can do with it, and more information garnered from it. as it is now it is just a way for the AI to cheat....

Triple.. My post was not missing your point, just explaining that the current game GCIII focuses on resource management more than Resource Exploration/management. In the current game there is not an easy way to implement this. THAT SAID: Compare Base to Crusade... Stardock totally rebuilt the engine and base mechanics for Crusade. So perhaps in the next expansion they might add some of what

[quote who="jackh1992" reply="17" id="3678150"] Yes eXpanding in a 4X game is a colony rush love the terminology of bullshit, yet all the major AI in gifted and above will be the ones that have eXpanded. Colony rush = focusing on ONLY the eXpanding part. in CGII if you over expanded before researching economy, your economy would crash and burn and you would be done. you could at max

yes... if you own the planet it is next to. You get the buff. I've had that show up as the first mega event and have like +400 raw production per planet by the end of the game. it's seriously OP but fun.

Back in early GCIII I was totally on the scale speed/research/etc to map size bandwagon. But I think scaling admin directly to map size from the start of the game would be a huge mistake. Here's why: 1. Puts undo emphasis on colony rush. 2. would make tall empires unviable. 3. Removes the need to balance the opportunity costs of advancement. Strictly put. you don't

No he's talking about "THE ARTIFACT" mega event. and to claim the Artifact... capture the PLANET that is closest to it.

Nope.. and this seems to be a major oversight.. The rational behind this is that you should be researching economy buildings or building economy starbases, or getting wealth building citizens. The oversight issue here is that if you go negative everything stops until you are positive. So if you go negative and you have not ALREADY done the research for the econ buildings and citizens... you might not have any means to pull yourse

Personally, I'd love blind research be an integral part of the game. Only races with X can see their tree more than a few techs out. Mind you, once you have played a few times this is no longer a hindrance, but if there were a few random techs that were "inspirations" or something that could add flair to the game. That said.... while SMCiv was the inspiration for the GalCiv they are totally different games in a lot of ways.&nbsp

Thanks! I still think it would be nice to have a in game drop down menu to select more colors or what not. I find the lack of selection really flustering at times.

You want a simple solution but not so simple solution? Administrators should create Projects or Commands once a Project point or Command Point, or Bureaucracy point is used up it is gone. Simply changing the name of the "admin point" to something else will simplify things. Update the tool tip to show what they were spent on. Create a building that is Empire Unique and call it the Continuing Edu

So I asked this previously and got no response but perhaps Stardock themselves can answer. In the Civ designer you can choose a drop down list of preset ship colors. 1. How do we add custom colors to that list? 2. Why can't we just hit a custom button and select our own? it seems that there should be a much wider selection of color options than is being allowed.

Please note my earlier post was made in a bit of tongue in cheek jest. I am and have always been impressed with how responsive to the community Stardock is. also simply the ABILITY to run a game of this nature is impressive... very very impressive.
