Bloodlust1983
Oh yhe topic still lives? I bet Zathras is still working on that cruiser while Zathras is refining the mod. [e digicons]^_^[/e]
And not a word on abscence of a ship's painting tool. Maybe I should make a ticket on this? Someone plz post a link to submitting tickets.
Well optionally I use to have an *.xls file to write down important notes
Hey B5 fan where is your minbari Sharlin Class Cruiser screenshot? [e digicons]^_^[/e]
Request: under govern / colonies tab, would be nice to have an note section that one can edit to remind oneself of each planet's goals (so that when one revisits a game after being away for a few weeks, it's easier to remember).
From what I'm reading, it's got quite a few shortcomings in mechanical depth. Jack of all trades, master of none? The economy is apparently very simplistic despite having things like three separate research structures for different types of research, combat boils down to simple greater firepower wins mechanics with no counter playing or tactical capabilities to defeat superior forces. It looks
Quoting Bloodlust1983, reply 2 And I would like to take this opportunity to remind our dear Stardock readers that we still need more customization of custom races and ESPECIALLY the ability to paint them. Also an idea from back in June regarding ass
And I would like to take this opportunity to remind our dear Stardock readers that we still need more customization of custom races and ESPECIALLY the ability to paint them.
Please name just one game that will support Insane size galaxies and 128 civilizations? Wouldnt be bad if this game also has the ability to create your own ships and opponents.
http://apps.pixlr.com/editor/?loc=ru%3Floc%3Dru Online editor through which I've already made some around 50+ logos and portraits for my future custom factions from quite a lot of sci-fi universes)
Randomizer will also need a lots of stuff like portraits, bacjground, flags and the like to choose from when creating random factions. It will need the ability to randomize colors (when they'll come around to fix that oversight and put a painting tool back in the game). Otherwise we'll be having a one hundred nearly identical twin looking races.
I hear that the game will support 100 races. Is it? Because this number of them will be enough to fill the insane (I hope). Though it'll have to be pain to create them. I'm alredy searching through all the space stuff I ever played or watched as movie to build up a list of opponents to create. Does anyone know will there ever be limit or it is "take as much as you can carry"?
I can barely run Excessive Maps b
Yeah, it seems the custom races creator took two steps forward and one step back from Gal Civs II. I hated that I had to choose a color theme (like Swamp) and not just choose from. And yes, importing custom portraits and flags should be as easy as it was in GCII. Luckily, we're still in Beta and these shouldn't be hard to change/add.
True. We are at beta still but having flagged such selfobvious things and the
I'm oficcially putting in a request here to bring back the painting tool we had in GC2 to paint our ships.

Thanks for the feedback! I talked with the lead designer about this and there maybe tweaks that will need to be made with the map generation.

Now would you kindly talk with someone to make an ingame ships painting tool for those who do not have the habit to tinker with xml file? There are preset schemes to choos from but none matches the one I've planned for the race I inten
For me GalCiv 2 was ideal in everything except of battles. So, in GalCiv 3 is nothing worth to buy it as a new game. At some moment it is worse then Twilight of Arnor.
That sentences have especially surprised me for both galciv2 expansions are quite poor. I prefer to think of them like alpha-version og GC3 =) Their most failing component is the ai. It had so many flaws in it that half of the games were ruined and
And if you're still not convinced just imagine it: The enemy had made a slightly stronger empire then you. And declared war on you. With that tactic mode of yours you would manage to repulse their assault. Oh well says the enemy. Then they begin to work to grow their empire larger, more economically prosperous, research powerful. Then (if you haven't mastered the game yet) they'll beat you in this race. And when your second with them begins you'll find that their fleet
I've played both and believe me I am quite sure that "no tactic" IS for the better. First the game is at beta stage of development yet (though release is rumored to be not far) And as the veta it is having things to be developed and so far it is: a) Stupid ai which in this version designed to focus on war and weapon research to test out space battles (see the tag at the top of the page) and to workout the bugs all the way down the last ship weapon and design. <p
As I see, there won't be tactic battle at all, yep?
Tactic isnt strategic. In the games like these your success depends on how you manage you empire and prepare your forces. Commanding units individually is not needed when you've done everything right. For if you didn't no tactic fight will pull you out of misery when your opponent has grown a larger empire, better economy and stronger military with breakthrou
I can see this revised for an expansion game pack but I don't see it going into vanilla GC3. Ideology is already set in stone. I don't see the devs going to back and doing a complete design since we have less than two months left before release. For an GC3 expansion game the idea is better placed there.
Perhaps. I brought this matter into light. It is now their will on how to deal with it.
I think I understand what you are proposing and I agree with everything except the simple part. Nothing is ever as simple as it sounds when it involves fundamental change in a system already adopted. Basically one of your ideas seems to agree with what I think. Points must be derived from somewhere other than just colonization and a few point giving improvements, in order to allow access to ideology bonuses in any game on any map
Seen people been a little confused about my post I'd write some more to explain myu thought. 1. Choices during the colonizations and events. Let them be! I do not propose to remove them from the game. I propose those choices influence your aligment instead of giving you points into three separate pools to unlock something. I'll remind that in GC2 aligment aligment was a single slider which shown other races that you are Good or Evil and that influenced yo
That wont need much redesign. I only shought a way to improve the game for the good of all.
