Wasn't there something similar in GC2? Where you could select if a planet should focus on Military, Social or Research? The only thing I would want is an easy way to input values for the dial. Say I could just write what the percentages should be. Could I for example set so that 10% goes to Wealth, 40% to Manufacturing and 50% to Research? Also, seeing only Manufacturing makes me suspect that planets will not be able to build ships and buildings at the same time,
My main beef with multiplayer in a turn-based game like this, is that it seems like they would have to water things down to keep the game flowing.
I have never used "hotseat" or any other form of multiplayer. The game descriptions of the MP for GC3 under the "games" tab above describes the MP for GC3 as being "asynchronous". So the question is: does hotseat allow asynchronous MP? A corollary question, if the answer to the first question is no, is: Isn't asynchronous MP better?
Hotseat is a local form of multiplayer, where each player takes their turn playing the g

I'd like a hotseat mode, a lot. I could play it with some friends of mine. Or I could use it to play a game where I controlled an alliance of several civilizations, or if I got really bored I could play one where I controlled all the civilizations all vying to conquer the galaxy.

Legendary Heroes is a standalone expansion to Fallen Enchantress , a turn-based fantasy strategy game. It takes place in the world of Elemental, along with War of Magic, which was released first and is no longer available for purchase. Wish I can tell you more, but I haven't played it myself. From what I

Hi Ray!
Rhonin_the_wizard: Will there be hot seat multiplayer? Raymond Bartos: As of yet there are no plans to implement this.
A pity.
However, I'm not quite sure about Santa Yor's design. It just looks... weird. Like a spindly eight-year-old wearing the football shoulder-pads of an adult. Both the original N1 (GalCiv 1 and 2) and the Yor concept design in the Vault looked much better. With both of them you have the feel, that they could effortlessly crush your head. With Santa Yor, however, I have my doubts if he could even hold a screwdriver.
Perhaps it

I suggest you wait until there is a Steam sale and buy GC2 nad give it a try, after that decide if you want GC3. It will be a while until GC3 is released. Haven't played Endless Space so I can't make a very good comparison. But here goes, GC2 has no space lanes, combat is automatic with no input from the player. The game focuses more on managing a galactic empire and has a very good ship designer. What makes me like it is so much is the random events that make it interes
I remember using the IRC facility StarDock provided for the GalCiv test cycles in the past. Since it had a targeted use, I found it was very good and appropriate. I don't think I could stomach a facebook approach. I think it lacks the monitoring required for communicating bugs and other test results. Also, isn't facebook the one that limits you to 140 Characters? Some problems will certainly take more than that to describe an

Will the Dread Lords play some part in the game? Either campaign or sandbox? Will the Drath make an appearance in some form? How about the Xendar? How many playable civilizations are you aiming for when the game launches? Will there be hot seat multiplayer? This is probably a given, but will the civilizations have different tech trees?
And that's where that haunting thought comes in. Though I don't have anything against digital distribution, it just doesn't feel right to not have a box standing on the shelf. Something you can hold in your hands and be happy about, thinking; "Yeah, I bought this. It was a good decision.". But that's not the only thing about GalCiv 3's digital distribution that bothers me. From what I've read, you need internet and Steam and that is the most bothe

While we are having this discussion I'd like to bring up a pet peeve of mine. In GC2 they are called Major Races and Minor Races, but that is wrong, especially for the Krynn Consulate, which is mentioned to be a group of different species. Wouldn't it be better to name them something else like Major Civilizations? Also, Netro Mancer was the leader of the Altarian Republic, Elyes Mue lead the Altarian Resistance. &nbsp

I have no problem with her design, it was the implication that she was the same character from CG2 with a complete makeover that I didn't like. Thanks for correcting that. I like some things I hear, but I hope the game won't hold your hand too much, or give me the option to turn it off. I think most games today are easy enough as it is.

I am not that big a fan of retcons, I think it would be best if you changed her to be a different character than the one in GC2. And in GC2 her name was Elyes Mue, unless this is her daughter or something. And try not to go overboard with the whole factions thing.

The problem with different endings is that for the sequel or expansion they will have to choose one ending to be canon, which will make the choices ultimately pointless. I preferred how it was in GC2, having alternate missions if you failed one.
