So I am lazy and not active on these forums, so sorry if the answer to this question is posted somewhere easy to find. Please be nice and give me a link if so. I am just playing the game again for the first time in probably a year or more. Crusade seems cool so far, but I am not a huge fan of the changes to Minor Civs (common gripe, I know). So I set out to recreate them as Major powers, only to find that my memory isn't good enough to do it. Google foo has failed me, a

All very good information. I will admit I have spent far more time going after factory and lab techs than I would like to admit. It is exactly these kinds of under the hood mechanics that give me fits. I havent found any good explinations for these things anywhere (yet). It would be nice to see some of these mechanics spread out on a wiki or something. I am definitely going to put your advice into action.

Thanks. For Humans I will try to do what you suggest. For the Yor I pretty much already do that, only I use colony ships. When I get my home world producing population fast enough I send full colony ships out, drop off 2.5 pop, then send it back for another load. It works well, I just didn't know if there was a better way. I still seem to fall behind the AI. Thank you very much for the input.

I dont spend as much time on these forums as I should. I dont gets lots of free time, and when I do I try to spend it playing the game. But I am having issues moving from Normal to Gifted. On Normal I am an unstoppable snowball rolling down hill. On Gifted I end up dead last in power and struggling to survive. So I set out looking for gameplay tips, advice, and strategies. My question is, do we have a place for this? On these forums or elsewhere? If so, can someone direct me to them? If not,

I have always talked up galciv2 AI. I told all of my friends that it has the best AI in any 4x game I have played. I fully expect galciv3 to be as great. Sid Meier's Civilization has been my favorite gaming franchise since 1991, I would love for you guys to make me bump GalCiv out of number 2. I think that GalCiv3 just might do that, give me characters that make me want to burn their homeworld.

You guys have done an awesome job! You have my review, and two of my friends have already purchased based on my mad ravings about the game. I continue to be critical of bugs and balance issues on the forums, but the game is playable and fun as is. I have had no gambreakers for several patches now, just minor stuff. You guys do good work.

I actually just came back to say I found the issue with the constructors not spawning. You are correct, I had made the default constructors obsolete. I don't build them, but I guess I confused the game. Still needs a fix tho.

As I am writing this we have 17 hrs 30 min til launch. Today I have had more bugs than in the last several weeks. I created a custom race and launched the game several times. Each time the text for my race's strengths and weaknesses was outside its box. The box is in the middle of the screen and the text appeared in the far upper left corner of the screen. Aprox 30% of the games I started the area around my ships and planets were covered in FOW until I moved a ship (not a big deal, but a

The planet Kurgonia checking in, Thank you Paul and Team! Thank you Brad! Thanks to all the testers for doing their part to make the game awesome!

I really think shipyards need to heal ships faster than the "battlefield repair" base rate. Maybe starbases with a repair module. I feel like this should have been a thing ever since shipyards were put in the game.

Well, I am in for the long haul. I love the game and have already paid for all the updates. I am only really concerned about launch because it can bring in a bunch of players if it has an awesome launch, or it can turn a lot of people off by having a less than awesome start. The game is playable and fun as is, but it is still buggy with unfinnished features. I would rather have things left completely out and saved for an expansion, rather than launch and work like crap. So we were finally able to play a bit of multiplayer. We created a game and waited in the lobby until it showed up for the other person. So on top of the lack of an invite feature we discovered that there does not seem to be a way to make the game private. I felt like a dick when people joined my game, I had to tell them it was meant to be private while I was waiting in the lobby for my friend to join. Reviewers are going to rip this apart on launch...

I play the insane spiral almost every game, and I generally reroll until I end up in a spiral arm. I tend to roleplay my empire a bit, earth exploring an unknown galaxy. I love this game! I just wish it were a bit more balanced and polished before they push it out the door.

I dont mean to sound like an ass, but why can you not simply hold down middle mouse button (scroll wheel in my case) and move the mouse? It rotates the ship just fine... am I missing something?

I have been looking for good strategy discussions for galciv3, something like the civfanatics forums. I haven't found anything like that here or on other sites. The only strategy stuff I have found I have dug out of discussions about whether or not something was broken, like economic starbase stacking. So can anyone point me toward good strategy info? And maybe some civilopedia-like info? The game doesnt do much to explain how different things modify other things... thanks in advance.

So we tried again tonight, same game version and everything the same as before... still no worky. Me sad panda.

So my friend and I both own GalCiv3 on Steam and would like to be able to play it together. I am a founder and love the game, so I talked him into buying it to play multiplay... only we can't invite each other. At all. I haven't been able to find an invite option in game, the steam invite feature does nothing, the join player feature for steam does nothing, and my games do not appear on the list of available games for him and his don't show for me. So... launch is in two weeks? Re
