U would think that when enough people people died on an invasion u would think they would surrender especially when they r human when not all of them r soldiers.

I think that this would be a good idea to do something with gas giants. In star wars this was a place to mine crystals that were especially hard this could improve the hulls of the planet it is connected to. I'm not sure but can't we really improve fuel with metallic hydrogen which this would both improve speed and range of ships from the planet it was connected. At least if this was connected to a barren world it would be a supply of water doing 2 things this would speed up productio

I will try out distance worlds for right now but for later can U comprehensively compare the game stellar to sins of a solar empirre or galactic civilizations for me so I know if I should get this later. I know how ironclad and stardock relate, but can u tell me how these other companies relate to each other business wise,

Well this would at least be a good place to place a tactical game I think.

Can I suggest an idea for another game. Now before I start I also think that spore is one of the worst games made. In the civilization the stradegy elements sucked. In the space stage it wasn't a stradegy, but was trying to be an Rpg. Spore forgot two things one was that as a computer game and not a nintendo game. This is one thing I can think that they didn't take into account. Which means that the gaming industry is far behind compared to the computer world, because spore forgot to

I've never actually got through a whole tech tree except once on Dread lords, so what u r saying u actually played the game long enough to use up all the techs on a tech tree. I also played the slowest setting. If u haven't played all the techs through in at least on tech tree then why do u want more techs. What's your average research rate in Bc's per week. Personally I think there is enough techs, so why r u posting this. I can at least see why u want a slower tech tree the

HonestlU y, Stardock has programmers. The courts r going to sue them on coding not how the game is played. For the most part reverse engineering is legal. There r probably rules to this. There is a certain amount of code that would have to be changed to make this legal/ if stardock accidently came up with the exact same code then u r right, but what is the chance of this happening considering that things change. Not to mention stardock is not going to trade for a older game enginge. The engin

The first is that this would take care of a problem out there where some people like the minor races being minor, and the second is that this would add a new dianamic which I could use against my opponent.<

I wouldn't expect that faccet to be lost. I would say that the small race tech tree is your best solution. I did like the small race tech tree; even though I would like to see more custom tech trees. I would like to see some custom super abilities. I would like to see more abilities. The first problem I find with the abilities is that they r not on par with the stock races. I understand about the Thalans, but what about the other species. I would like to see a neg

Ok earlier I didn't reelise what u were trying to do. I noticed that u made two posts, and one reply doing the same thing. I'm sure u noticed that basically this game rely's mostly on building units, or on planets population. This new idea does change the mechanics of the game to my opinion. How much is this like Simcity? What I mean is that in Simcity U decide what kind of building u get, but u don't decide on the actual buildings u get. In Galactic c

I'd just like to be able to issue an edict to other species (per race, to all major or minor races and to all races). If the warned races violate it, I'd like to be able to warn them and if they ignore it, destroy the offending ship/fleet without starting a full-scale war.[/quote] Ok this is reasonable

Well to my opinion this should not make u the bad guy when I'm trespassing. As long as u r required to send out a ship and catch me then that will be fine. U still will only to see the territory that is lit up. I Think this is reasonable. The only thing I am arguing is this I don't think that u can block me from your territory without force. The obly time I thought it was wrong was in Civilization 4. Where u couldn't enter someelse's territory without

I was thinking about the minefields. I don't know if they r practical or not. I Think these ideas r insightful. I do think we need to take into account inflation, technology, and the mathematics of First r we talking about regular mines. Then we would have to have a high orbit otherwise they would burn up in the aptmosphere. Unless they were heat shielded enough. Then they would eventually hit the ground and explode. we should be allowed to destroy ships freely. I imagine this means for your territory. As much as I would like to go around destroying random ships of other people without repercution. I do like the idea of the galactic council setting borders. I really don't like the strict right of passage agreement. U have a right to try not to let me in your territory, but I think if I want to ignore u. U can declare war on me, or try to fixically stop me. I don't think u should get an invisible f

I can kind of see Divinewrath's point Galactic civilization is sort of like really small island warface; except, that the influence expands really well. I didn't mind civilizatoins 3 version as much as I didn't like fours. In 3 it still gave me an option to ignore the request, or all the right of passage did is not mess up the citizens location. I noticed that if u made a right of passage agreement and then surounded their cities, and then wipe them off the map the Ai neve

I recomend starting off with the Terrans. Unless U play Dark avatgar which I suggest to start off. Then I would recommend the Altarians. The hardest 2 races in twilight of the Arnor is the Thalans and the Torians. The hardest 2 races in Dark avatar is the Krynn and the Korath clan, I have a beginner guide post on the Galactic civilizatons 2 forums I would suggest reading it.
