Thank you for your answers. Income seems to be the consensus along with the distance factor. That's good, because I have just found a Q25 planet that loves to make money and sits far away from anybody else :-)

I'm looking for the list that includes the opt-in updates. Version 1.7 has had several opt-in updates-- there must be 5 or 6 by now. I know I saw that list once upon a time but, for the life of me, I can't find it now. I've searched Stardock, Steam and the GalCiv3 forums to no avail. TIA, Richard

If I bring up the FPS HUD there are three entries that I don't understand: PTL Updates/sec PTL Scripts Updated PTL Scripts Rendered I've searched high and low and still don't know what the heck 'PTL' stands for. Will some kind soul please explain this to me? TIA, Richard

SD: GC3 v1.6 1. I'm having ship color problems when creating a race. Many choices only show all-white ships-- particularly with the reverse palettes. I tried removing the xxxGradient.png files in the GFX folder, then let Steam replace them, but, no joy-- still many white ships. Not pretty... 2.
