I look at starports as specialized constructor ships.
Although, looking at starports in game, they definitely look like huge stationary "starbase-y" structures. Not ships. I'll say again, all the pluses to having mobile starports that you list, can easily be solved by using constructors and stationary starports. Even better, because you can upgrade the constructors engin

The TC whining just has to stop. Moo2 was a tactical game to begin with, X-com was also...Galciv was not. They aren't changing or watering down GC by removing TC. It was never there, and shouldn't be.

They are not ships. Thinking ahead about where to put them is the strategy.</p

I do love Nimoy in Civ. I'd support a similar thing in GC, a good voice that reads the techs when they're done researching.

Will the different tech trees be just a re-labeling, or will the branches be shaped differently like in GC2? Random question: in GC2 once a star was in sensor range you could click on it and it would show the number of planets and the number of habitable planets, I miss this. Is it coming back?

It always bothered me that the Korx were evil. A trading race should really be neutral, willing to trade with both sides as long as they make money.
