A lot of refinement is still needed for this game, some factions still don't work properly, they have a dozen or so planets right next to their borders perfect for colonization and they don't touch them. In the game I just finished the Terrans were stuck at 36 points for like the whole game because they only colonized like 4 planets when they had like 12 planets close by they even had a 4 planet system which they just colonized one of and ignored the other three.

Sounds like a bug to me, they don't bitch at me with my survey ships, but when my scouts are in there then they whine about it
Can't wait for the campaign, I think that makes this series unique as its the only one that actually has a story
No thats the invasion screen bug, this is the battle viewer bug where it freezes the game forcing you to crash it

I don't use the battle viewer anymore because its broken, keeps locking up so in order to play the game I just use the auto resolve button
Have you factored in the self-healing armor and repair probe technology?
The Approval relics are likely bugged, I had 47 planets with 96 approval but I wasn't using relics I used the +Morale technology from the approval tech line
you wouldn't have access to growth technology, its pretty funny when the Yor ask me for food tech when they can't even use it
Yeah the balance is broken on much higher map types, I just cloned them and replaced Patriotic with another attribute, it stopped them from going crazy and brought them back into line with everyone else.
I noticed when I was cloning factions for when I made my custom civilizations the base factions all seem to have Logistics at the very bottom of the list of importances, I think that might actually be why fleets are not being correctly formed. Not until the Dregin declared war on me around turn 500 did I see any actual fleets just random ones and twos floating around, it was easy killing the Krynn because all their ships were not joined up.

The AI needs some serious adjustments for it to work properly, but once you stop the AI from being retarded and only building two buildings on a Level 20 planet, and even when it decides it will build its just pea soup. Once that is fixed the AI will be far more challenging
The Krynn just attacked my planet with two different sets of transports in different fleets at the same time, and now its stuck in a "waiting for other player" on the invasion screen.
I cloned the Krynn and removed their major OP large empire immunity and they dropped back into line with everyone else, so it is this trait screwing it up
