I'm not sure....is Stardock one of the companies where you have to pay to beta a game? It was when I played the original Galactic Civ years and years ago.
IIRC, for FE and LH, you had to pre-order to get into the beta and I think it may the same for GalCiv III, but someone can correct me on that if I'm wrong. That's fine for me but if you're hesitant, hopefully someone will put up some Let's Plays so

sounds like have something to look forward to this summer.
I've thought of a relatively "cheap" but interesting way to have meaningful siege units. Specifically, units that do 2X damage when attacking a city. It would be easy to do and result in a new line of thinking of units (units that are useful in different circumstances).
Sappers, nice.
First: really excited, can't wait, yadda, yadda, yadda. Second: DLC Frequency? yes, quarterly probably does seem right. Third: New DLC: There might be a way to put in some siege stuff without code, like new siege weapons (e.g. Roman-style ballista that has the crossbow's ability but more powerful and longer range), and defensive measures like boiling oil that you can build into cities (AoE spell that does damage over time with fire effect). Would laying do
I like Tarth, mostly because of their backstory of being liberated gladiators. After watching Spartacus I can't help but root for Tarth. Also, Glory and Gore by Lorde is totally their theme song.
awesome, thanks! [e digicons]:D[/e]
Quoting Frogboy, reply 33I wish there was more interaction with my opponents (even if it's just flavor text) Only opponents? I wouldn't mind to have better interactions with teammates and allies, even in SP, to give it a flavour of co-op. Sort of. Kinda.
That would be cool, if you could try to coordinate attacks with allies; pay them to attack certain enemy cities or just sit their army somewhere menacing to distract an opponent. <
I don't know if I've played as Kulan before but so far I've tamed a bear cub and a black widow and they've both disappeared from the strategic map after I've tamed them.
I love Exploring. I love fighting off and then looting monsters skulking around my territory and making forays into wildlands. Founding, capturing, and managing new cities and building an empire. Stationing armies (with heroes at the vanguard) at various strategic points along the map as I plan my attacks. I love designing and then leading troops into battles with magic and steel. Doing all of this on randomly generated ma
I'm going to post some of this in the other article but I don't want to derail that discussion to much. What sold me on Fallen Enchantress was faction creation and unit design. That being said, I get why you want to go in a different direction for the next game. Faction differentiation is a worthy goal. However, you may want to think about allowing some minor customization within each factio
sounds fun. can't wait to check it out.
Well, in the next Elemental game, the player will start out with the Forge of the Overlord.
Interesting. Elemental: Forge of the Overlord?
I just read up to the first Spell of Making so far and had an idea. Since many people seem to play with the SoM victory condition turned off, what if the Spell and the Forge of the Overlord actually allowed you create powerful magical items. I typically don't bother with the towers but this might introduce an interesting element. (I'll be really embarrassed if they already do something like this and I've been ignoring it this whole time).
Awesome, welcome to the party. [e digicons][/e]
I think they celebrate the Feast of the Titans but I have no idea when.
Zooming in is a pain as the bright white burst consumes half of the gravity well, meaning you are blind on that side.
True, but look at the bright side (sorry, couldn't resist), if you click on an Advent culture tower there's a slight bass thump when the announcer says "Victory is at hand for the Unity" and it makes it feel like you're at an Advent rave.
Good ideas! I would also like to see some newer tactical maps as well.
totally
I propose a DLC with some new map types, potentially with a couple map type-specific quests/items/monsters. 1. Winter/Frozen -I say this every year, but a whole map that's all snow/taiga/tundra. Maybe we could fight/ride saber-tooth tigers and mammoths. 2. Hellish - a whole map like the burning lands? Think plane of Oblivion. 3. Top of the world. Instead of water all around the map we have clouds, like you're in an impossibly high
yep, we're good.
i see the tag in there now. i'll see if i can test it tonight.
I suppose you could simply have an unrest penalty if you have a lot of cities. I can't remember if it already did that or not.
can still cast it with no friendlies in the way.
I have added code so that the AI will occasionally when when one of its cities gets destroyed by monsters to better communicate that yea, the AI has a real problem with monsters city-wise.
I think this is an important step so it's a little more transparent. Monsters moving first is probably ok, I agree that maybe in a beta first.
are there any plans to fix monster hero traits considering they are not allowed to wear armors? Either remove the armor trait option or allow them to wear armor. Right the option to wear armor is on there but clicking on the trait results in wasted point because they are program to not wear armor.
Same for Resoln troop units. They can't wear armor beyond leather but some have plate armor p
I came in during the Fallen Enchantress beta and that's what I fell in love with. That, to me, is the base game and LH is a (great) expansion for that. Same with Sins. I only play Rebellion now but I still think of it as Sins (of a Solar Empire). Do you have plans to do any more expansions or iterations that were as big as LH? If so (and I hope so), you don't want to keep running on your brand treadmill. I get maybe dropping "Elemental" from the
