Waiting for the official 1.0 release is my best guess.

I found, that ConvertData GUI also works without renaming the two exes :-) Just pick the right one for Entrenchment or vanilla.
from what I understood, the mini packs are all separate, so you can have the diplomacy addon without the entrenchment content if you're not into turtling. or vice versa.
What do you think how will this affect online games? "I wanna entrench!", "No, we will settle this by diplomacy", "Screw addons, I wanna play vanilla Sins" [e digicons]XO[/e] There will be 8 possible game modes...
[e digicons][/e] I love sound mods! Cool!
- A starbase in a plasma storm doesn't damage enemy ships that are jumping away. Their phase-thingy also isn't red but normal blue-white. Since it's a passive ability I'm not sure wether it's a bug or a feature. Anyone knows vor certain?
1 free trade port
That's a good idea! :-)
2) Yeah, but why do I get info about it at all? OK, at least it's intentional ; - D 1) OK, would still be nice to place SBs into the middle of gravwells, where actually no object occupies the middle. I can fly through it with ships, right? Also the whole middle square is off-limits for SB, not just the middle of the square :-(
Entrapment
Are you doing this on purpose? It's called ENTRENCHment. Kind of funny, though, maybe I'm missing a joke (I'n not a native english speaker, so...)
Oh, right, I didn't think about that.
The implementation for ships with addon abilities is to add the button, but for ships that natively have the ability, they just grey it out.
Yeah, from the engines perspective it is consistent. Let me clarify: inconsistent is having some abilities and fleet assignements still active when Advent convert a normal frigates (esp. annoying with Kanraks that had the missile ability active when they were converted) BUT NOT
Hejhej! - It's not possible to place a starbase in the exact middle of an asteroid belt or cloud. The red-cross-cursor isn't captured on tn in-game screenshot, but you notice the missing circle around the end of the line. - Why are two of these asteroird written in white? I think that maybe the AI had allready built extractors on those. I didn't explore the
I meant, that when I (Advent) capture a TEC starbase constructor or a Vasari migrator (which as allready attained the starbase construction ability because the previous owner has researched it) it would be nice if I could buil those starbases.
OK, I tried that, and: A captured TEC starbase constructor does have the ability-button there (in contrast to a captured Vasari colonizing frigate) but its grey ("not researched"). Strange. Whatever: wether IC prevented Advent fro
Dead asteroids don't have any resource asteroids, but the Akkan can still colonize them.
Right, didn't think of that [e digicons]X|[/e]
The only case where the Akkan would be better is if you only purchase only one planet upgrade.
When do you have to purchase just one planet upgrade? That's why I usually play Advent: upgrading a colonized planet right away is just cool :-)
Yes, that would be good. Then it would be more balanced with the other races colonizing bonuses. A thought on that: Some planets don't have 3 asteroids, might that cause problems with level 3 of that ability???
Thanks for suggesting and implementing it! :-)
Did you unistall the entire game before upgrading to Entrenchment beta 3 or Sins 1.14? Since the older betas overwrote stuff from the basic game, EVERYTHING has to be redownloaded. If you have an archive from before Entrenchment that should also work. I think there are also still some chrashes related to the graphic/texture details, try setting them lower (at leat not on highest). Hope that helps! :-)
Does anyone still has the files???
Well, the stats are currently off anyway (Entrenchment beta3). Last game I played online wasn't registered :-( Anyway, to your proposal: Maybe a kind of fun-mode could be introduced. No stats, fast games etc.
I still argue that it's to give an advantage to players who can pay close attention to a battle. Yes, a large point of the game is to allow a player who doesn't micro to do fairly well, but allowing skill in micro to give an advantage adds depth.
That's convices me at least ;-) Except of course if it is a bug. Since each faction has one such ability they should all either interrupt any orders or none.
And @ jjandrah Thanks for explaining :-)
Ridiculous. You have to do 2 tiers of research on the Vasari tech tree and 3 tiers of research on the TEC tree in order to build either of those units. How are you going to pull that off as Advent? Now, if you captured an Advent builder, and you've done the research as Advent - sure, you should be able to use it. So go do a test and make sure that you can (post results here). Otherwise....
I meant, that when I (Advent) capture a TEC starbase constructor or a Vasar
Oh, and most importantly: converting a TEC or Vasari Starbase builder should give Advents the ability to build a TEC or Vasari starbase :-D Maybe with all upgrades the other player has allready purchased, or at least the standard upgrades available.
The opposite thing happens when the Advent Battlecruiser uses to "convert frigate" ability. The target ship is mine, but still resumes it's previous orders. It also retains it's status as member of a fleet, so my other ships who aren't in a fleet join. Really annoying! What bugs me even more is the fact, that converting a Vasari colonizing frigate doesn't give me the ability to build a Vasari starbase. @Devs: Please allign the reseting thingy consistently. Converting a ship sh
