It is the same user, only the account type was chaged to limited (we experienced a raw sockets attack at work, and i have some recovered files here on a removable hard drive and didn't want any chance of an attack at that time). Change the account type back to administrators make it work again.

hey do you remember an old compuserve game called megawars? We bombed the hell out of planets back then. In fact if you didn't watch it you could destroy everything of value on the planet, leaving you a huge mess and large debts to pay for the cleanup. Hmm that's an intersting idea, capture a star system and go broke doing it. You'd have to be very carefull, :)

It seems that i have to run as an administrator (XP Pro) in order for it to lauch galciv, as a restircted account it won't see the games or my user info. Any Ideas? :)

Was playing the new 9/27 version my survey ship had met a minor race, a scout (freebie) had found another minor civilization and had only had contact with the Tor. I went to the diplomacy screen, checked my relationship with the tor and then selected the minor race, the first race showed up but then i hit the right arrow button and totally locked up. A couple of things happened today, My registration says that it expires in 1900,, I know i'm one of the old farts here but really.... :) . I had gooten to diplomatic trnslators, adv fusion, etc. but the govenor would only allow the first original ones to be put in order. Also ehn looking at the graphs every time i would hit on economic it would bail me out of the game. restore would take be back to where i was but hitting the button would crah me again.
