Agreed. I hate any form of free info on other players. Okay, technically espionage by trade requires universal translator and initially finding other civilizations, but that's not taxing on your time and resources unless they're out of your range. I also know that the graphs are another form of free espionage. Also, I believe the new report and stats screens in the govern screen could also be another form of free espionage (I'm not sure though as I haven't had a good look at them as I don't h

Hi, sometimes fleets will be off the center of a space. I am not sure if it does this with only one ship in a space though. Also, if I remember correctly, sometimes if I right click on the space the fleet will instantly switch over to the center of the tile. The game is on a small map with only the AI and I (there used to be another AI that I set to start allied with the other AI, and there are still some starbases left over from him). Also, I have the graphics settings set to full except for
Hi, sometimes when the Iconian drones on my planets are attacked the 3d/map graphic of the planet will disappear after the battle. I have only done quick battles for these though so I'm not sure if it would occur after I played out a full battle, and I am not sure if it occurs only when Iconian drones are fighting or not. Also, I can still interact with and enter the manage planet screen by clicking on the invisible planet. It has been occurring since about turn 75-80 I believe, and it is
Thank you for the answer.
I have tried this again and it is still doing it, but it only appears to be writing to the disk in the download section, not actually downloading anything. I might not have noticed this at the time of my first post as well. Also, I noticed that it only says that it is missing 1 file and that it will be reacquired after I run and exit the game. If I verify the files two or more times without running the game it will say on the second and subsequent times that all files were successfully verifi
Same here, and my system is beyond recommended specs.
When I verify the files it says it is missing one file and that it will be reacquired. When I check out the downloads section it says that it downloaded about 160 kb. But it does this again whenever I verify the files. Does anyone know what's going on here?
Perhaps instead of calling it coercion a better word for it might be restriction because if you have set the production wheel(s) to 33/33/33% your population is still being coerced anyways by their government to do work in some way for it, but assuming that 33% of people would prefer to manufacture for their government rather than the other two, 33% desire to research for their government rather than the other two, and the last 33% desire to increase wealth for their government rather than th
This all sounds very interesting, but I want to make sure about something with the coercion idea. You say that setting wheel(s) to 100% production of, say, research, is coercion, and I agree with this. But isn't keeping the wheel(s) at 33,33,33% production amounts still coercion? You're still forcing your population to do certain jobs if I'm not mistaken. Again, I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly, and I enjoy reading your ideas on the future of the game.

Cool, I'm looking forward to it. I enjoy hearing developer's thoughts on their games, seeing what they're working on, and watching them play.
If these were recorded could they be uploaded somewhere?
If this was recorded could a video of it be uploaded somewhere?
This was fun and interesting to read and look at, and thank you for writing this. But I just can't help but ask when will Saturn get its rings? It's just not Saturn without them.
Could you advise in a little more detail what a C looks like? For example, your post has a focus on the first 100 turns and has no weapons focus ... to me this is not a C it's an F.
Brad said in his original post, "However, not all these choices were good choices. It should have picked a single weapon system to focus on." So that will be at least one of the things they'll be f
Are double stars still planned? Assuming they are, I can understand them taking a while as there's probably a good number of things that are on a higher priority to be worked on right now. Also, if double stars are gonna be implemented, could you tell us about the mechanics of them? Thank you.
Hi, I am going to share a few racial trait ideas and see what others think about them. Does anyone think being able to spend points on different racial traits that give you better/more starting ships (like another scout ship or the one scout ship you normally start out with is faster), more credits, and/or more green tiles on your home planet would be a good idea? Also, maybe you could choose to start with less/worse ships, less credits, and/or less tiles but receive racial trait
Do you think you could try to post the next announcement for August 29, Friday's dev stream on Thursday please? I am gone during the time on Friday's when these posts are posted and I would like to ask a question.
I will start by saying I don't have GalCiv 3 yet. In Gal Civ 2 I believe there were a lot of stats and graphs that would give good info on your and other civs, but I am kind of partial toward this. I think it's allowing you to have good data about a civ without actually having to scout him out and use what you have available to you carefully. Yes I do realize that in order to get the info about a specific civ you still have to encounter that civ once, but I
Thanks for the replies everyone. I should have said that I realize there are times that it doesn't give you any gameplay advantage to move one hex at a time. One example of this would be when you move your ship in such a way that it wouldn't uncover any fog of war. I realize that some people would like to spend all their movement points with a single click to move the game along at a faster pace, but there are some people who you could describe somewhat as perfection
Hi, I don't have the Galactic Civilizations 3 alpha yet, but I have the Galactic Civilizations 2 Ultimate Edition (which is a great game except for the lackluster AI I have played against even though reviews say it should be very challenging). I have also watched some videos of the Galactic Civilizations 3 alpha. I was wondering if anyone moves their ships one hex at a time? Put in other words, does anyone click on each adjacent tile one at a time to move their ships rat
