Screen scrolling doesn't work yet. It's coming.
I kinda liked the Mega Events, if only because it changed things up a bit. I'm hopeful we can create our own custom Mega Events. Some of the criteria for the Mega Events are pretty specific though, so I'm not sure how the logic behind them will be handled via the XML?
Of course, I'm just curious why these two threads are doing so much work even in the main menu.
At this poitn its hard to say why the game uses so much CPU cycles. It's likely just some optimization that's required. Which is probably why we're limited to 'small' maps for now until those optimizations are in place. Maybe they're mining bitcoins from us for April Fools? :P (ok not rea

There are some good suggestions here, that should help.
Does it make more sense to do this perhaps? 1) On the main technology page only indicate what your CURRENT age is and a bar indicating how far you are to the next age 2) On the Tech tree, indicate all ages and when you'd hit them to me this aleviates problems with the curren
I think that we need to differentiate between 'micro' and 'busy work' I don't think people mind micro managmeent, as this is an important part of the strategy and maximizing your resources and efficiencies. What people do not like is 'busy work'. I feel that people don't necessarily want 'automation' in terms of an AI doing stuff for you. But more 'batch management'. How do I mass upgrade ships/colonies. How do I pump out my '

For the devs, may I recommend that you create a 'beta' channel for those of use who really want to be on the cutting-edge of the cutting-edge! It would be opt in but give you some feedback for upcoming features.
Here's something to cleanse the pallet a bit with soem old school :) 0:41-03:00 covers my basic premise For all the claims of 'greed', most people in the game industry will tell you, there are a lot of other places to make better money than making games. Most people make games because tehy love it. And they'd rather make less money doing it.

My assumption is that there will be techs that will decrease teh cost of this. Perhaps the logic is that even if you can't 'own the skies' you can make ground war so expensive that trying to take over your planets is not cost effecive, even for highly militarized societeis?

@ windscion2 Disable crossfire
I posted Brads plans for the DLC and # of expansions in a vain effort to explain what the future plans were for content Responses to that were "That proves my point it is too good to be true" ????? What? and "That proves Stardock is releasing DLC for the sake of releasing DLC" ???? WHAT? It's really just pointless. They're not there to have an actual discussion. They jsut want to 1) Whine the price is too high 2) Whine that
Yeah this seems to be an issue Try doing this Press ~ In the console type "turnactions" This 'in theory' disables the stuff like "DO RESEARCH" and "IDLE COLONIES" so you can proceed. Note this disables ALL of them so you nee dto be more careful

Odd on my i5-3570k it'll use up to 70% of the CPU across all 4 cores. And that's just rendering the main menu :P
That's weird I just tried that resolution on my system in windowed mode with no problem.
