Hi, this normally happens when you use a "horizontal mirror" on some optical part. When you attach more parts to it, either optical or functional, they get mirrored aswell. The mirrored engine there is only optical, BUT: you can place another real engine at the place where the hardpoint is, you just have to click into fake engine. You then have two engines at the same spot, one fake mirror engine and a real one. Hope this helps

Yes, it was like that in the Beta. It is still annoying, and should be changed IMO. Other Steam games do not screw up my settings when I download a patch.
As the title says, everytime a new patch is downloaded, the game screws up my settings to default. NO, I don't want to see the intro, again. NO, I don't want music to play, NO, I don't want the grid to be displayed. YES, I want auto-save every turn, YES, I want particles deactivated etc. etc.. You should really fix it that the user configuration is stored even after a patch. Very annoying that is overwritten time and again. This was acceptable during Beta, not in a
I agree. - An Do/Undo button. I had several times wrongly clicked somewhere, only to find that the part I had spend minutes in optimizing was removed. - Ability to change ship base size (i.e. take a small ship, load it into medium size and then do changes on it etc.). - Save ship parts as new parts should work - Make ship parts invisible, i.e. engines, cannons that I have to add "obscure" the look I had in mind for the ship. I every time have to
Here are the race pics for the MoO 2 races. http://www46.zippyshare.com/v/fCU4JhBs/file.html I don't know much about this copyright stuff either, perhaps someone creative can create their own images based on these. I had them in my GC2 folder, and they'll definitely come over to GC 3, especially with Steam Workshop enabled.
I thought the same thing. I wanted to remove my fleet to another part of my territory, and the auto-path system thought it was a nice idea to roll that fleet through a previously friendly civilization's territory. The got angry me for doing so while all I did was clicking my fleet into another part of MY OWN territory. I think both explorers, surveys etc. and also normal fleets should be more careful about entering enemy territory, especially when the AI is making such a fuss about it.</p
Yes, it would be good if we just would be able to EDIT an existing Custom race, in addition to copy and delete. Mister Generic Leader is staring into my face, because I forgot to give him a proper name the first time.
After having played Beta 6.1, my own rating is 86%. I still think if you would have waited two or three months more you could have got a 90+ with all minor things fixed and thought out. I do not get why you needed to release the game NOW when people can play it as early access already, but I think it will get an okay launch. I would actually very much like ship-to-ship combat improved, as in MoO 2. Got a mediocre armed starbase, but playing myself, could take out some key ships of the
I thought of this aswell. There should be faster variant of a single ship repair if you "lock it down" like in Civilization, and starbase modules (e.g. for military starbases) to increase repair. And a module to create "fleet repair ships", "Mobile Tender" sort of thing. This will add an additional level of strategy to the game.
Thats great to hear. I had "out of memory" errors a lot with Beta 5.1-5.2 even with small/medium galaxies. Time to go insane :-). Another question: What about custom ship/race colors? I hope this isn't to complicate to integrate. If we really go with dozens of different races, it would be good if they fly around in differently colored spaceships so players can optically differentiate them.
I think ships should be able to "fortify", like units in Civilization can, which speeds up their healing. Maybe takes 8 to 10 turns where they cannot move/are docked at a starport to repair. In that time, they are sitting ducks with reduced weapon/defense maybe, or it should only be done near a starbase. However, I think there should be a faster way of repairing without spending money. Would make the game better IMO. Same for upgrades. I do not constantly use my shipyards but shut them down o
Gal Civ 2 was and still is a great game. Gal Civ 3 is on a good road to that. However, I also feel two or three more betas before official release would help the game. Whoever wants to play the game in its current state already can via Early Access. And all the other folks, they expect a "complete" game. For me this still looks like a "banana game" - it will ripen at the customer. As a loyal fan of Gal Civ 2, this is okay for me. I know that in a year the game will be better than now.
I agree. I love my neighbors. I really do. But "DECLARE WAR" jumps into my face everytime I do diplomacy. Please move it as an option to the trade screen, and start with the trade screen immedeately when starting up Diplomacy. And then, if you want to declare war, add another pop-up that asks if you are sure.
Not as far as I know, but I would like this option aswell. Give us copy-paste.
I had the same bug with the red unhappy face even after I, err... "liberated" the colony. Approval 100%, everything is fine, but the red unhappy face won't go away (with 0.82).
That depends, how much memory is other programs using on your computer at that same time? Do you have virtual memory enabled? All that will play a roll in this.
Its just Windows 7, Steam and GC3, nothing else is running that is using notable memory.
Great to hear, an intelligent A.I. is very important. as for stability, in opt-in 0.82, I dared to play a medium sized galaxy with 7 opponents, and constantly get "out of memory" errors after a few turns. I have Windows 7, 8 Gigs of Ram, 1 GB graphic card. I think 8 GB of memory should be able to handle a medium-sized map.
+1 The current "zing" and "bling" on next turn and ship movement are a source of major annoyment for me. Please change.
Hi, here is my personal feedback of Beta 5.1 so far: - The research/tech screen needs a revamp. I guess you're pretty proud of the robot animation explaining the new tech, right? Still, it should consume much less of the screen. The actual tech and the advantages that I get from it are displayed too small. Especially, currently my new tech when researched is displayed white on grey in a very small window to the right. This should be changed. -<stro
