I've posted a ticket and submitted our most recent savegame. @erischild: How long does an entire game usually take for you? You mentioned finishing a game in two sessions before. It took us four or five sessions and at least 12 hours to reach the age of ascension in our game, and the game isn't finished yet. Since the crashes clearly increase over time, this might be an important factor. The lower number of players probably accounts for some time, and the additional experience you hav

The Amor Spice promotion doesn't even kill the researcher, you just have to pay 10 Promethion and 1 Amor Spice. The promotion that kills the researcher requires Malevolent ideology and has different costs.
Majesty is the final tech of the Diplomacy tech tree branch. Its tooltip clains that it allows you to form "Assimilation treaties" with other races, which I assumed means that they unite with you / surrender to you peacefully. However, after researching the tech, I didn't get any new options for treaties, and I couldn't find a new option anywhere else in the diplomacy menu. I have max good relations with multiple AIs (slider all the way to the right), so I guess that isn't the problem. <
How often does your game crash? 1 crash about every 2-5 turns What players do you have? 2 human players, 6 AI players at normal difficulty human players are in the same room and use the same connection What teams do you have? 1 team for human players, 0 for AI players, 0 mixed teams How big is your galax
Since our current session has become pretty much unplayable due to the frequency of crashes, I'd like to try to figure out if there are certain settings that affect the crash frequency. If you've played at least one multiplayer game in Crusade, I'd be gratiuos if you'd fill out this survey: Important: Since the frequency of crashes usually seems to increase over play time, please refer to a game where you are at least close to the end of the Age of War. I
One more crash-happy situation: -conquering the last planet, and thus defeating, an enemy race We're now at one crash about every second turn, and the "AI turn never ends" issue increased in occurances as well (we now had about 5 in our current game so far). This is clearly the most unstable game I've ever played, and that's after two years of updates. If it would be like that for everybody, I guess ppl would riot in front of Stardock HQ with torches and pitchforks. Howev
Yesterday I figured out that Amor Spice, apart from upgrading Entertainment Centers, can also be used for a "promote scientist" action that finishes your current research immediately, which is immensely powerful (e.g. I used it to finish a 24 turn research in 1 turn, for just 10 Promethion and 1 Amor Spice). This is confusing enough on it's own - I mean, unless you had an excessive supply of Amor Spice or shortage or Promethion, why should you ever use it to upgrade an Entertainment C
I see - I guess in the end it comes down to having to sacrifice some spaces to build additional lower-level buildings intead of fewer higher-level ones if you can't secure a certain resource, and it doesn't really matter which building it is.
One thing I forgot to mention is that the frequency of crashes clearly increases as the game progresses - I think we didn't have a single crash for the first two or three hours, while yesterday we even had one crash about every 30 minutes (we're close to the transition from age of war to age of ascension now). Another situation that seems to be likely to cause a crash: -one player ends a turn, then some popup (e.g. AI trade request) can't be displayed because the other player has
I'm in a multiplayer game with another human player and 6 AI players in a medium galaxy. We have both managed to secure all "common" resources like Durantium, Elerium, etc. Each of us (human players) has two or three special resources, e.g. I have the weird pollen thingies, she has Aurorum whatever. Now, there seem to be a few resources that only a single alien race has, such as hyper silicates, and that race has about two of them and won't give them away for anything, even though I h
Last time we played was before Crusade and at least two major patches, so I was hoping for a more stable experience this time. Good news is that the "AI turn never ends" issue only occured once so far in several hours of play, this was way more frequent last time. However, the game crashes at least once per hour. Do you ppl get such frequent crashes as well? We are currently playing medium galaxy, 2 human players in one team, 6 AI players without teams. Crashes seem to be pret
Where can I get up-to-date information about the game? We've come back to GalCiv III after the Crusade expansion and one or two bigger patches that we didn't try out yet, and are now trying to get back into the game. Just starting a new game and trying to learn stuff on the fly has been messy so far, since a lot of things aren't explained very well in the game, or maybe the explanations are difficult to find. For example, the way population and food work is ap
Exploration treaties are mutual? I guess I have to re-check if I get the chance to continue our current game in the evening - last time, I negotiated an exploration treaty with an AI living in largely unexplored territory, and it didn't seem to do anything for me - more than half of their realm is still covered. For Research, Free Trade etc. I would like to know what preconditions have to be fulfilled for you to be able to request one from the AI. At first I thought they lack the
While I've come to a decent basic understanding of most of the game's mechanics, I'm pretty much at a loss when it come to treaties: 1) I'm unable to predict or even understand which treaties are available in a trade negotiation. A certain level of relations seems to be required, some treaties probably require other treaties and I think some treaties require the other party to have certain diplomatic techs as well, but bottom line is: I'm at a loss. 2) I ca
We did install the 1.7 Beta after all, but so far it doesn't seem to make any difference in regard to the issue (three stuck-turns in about six hours of playtime so far, which is about the same rate as before).
Yes, I did create a ticket, as described in the OP.
It's not a crash, it's the issue where some AI player's turn never ends and you can't continue the game. It's an issue that occurs randomly, so unfortunately, you can't reproduce it from a savegame. I'm asking about the fix in 1.7 because I'm not that keen on installing a Beta version. If there is a fix in there and good reason to believe it might help, I'll give it a try, otherwise I'll stick to the regular udpate path.
I wrote a ticket to SD support because we frequently encounter the "stuck turn" issue in multiplayer games (roughly once every 2 hours). In their reply, the recommended to install the 1.7 Beta patch. I've checked the changelog in the forum and didn't find any entry concerning the stuck turn issue. Is there such a fix in this patch, or was this just copy-paste advice like "oh well, if you have any issues, maybe install some patch or update some driver"?
- Stuck Turn Problem: At the Start we had these Error massivly, until we read a Forum Post which said we should not use the ShipWreck Annomalies. After that we could minimize these Problems.
Is this the issue where some AI player's turn lasts forever in a multiplayer game? We have that as well. What have those shipwreck anomalies have to do with it? Does "not use" mean just to not pick them up, or can you turn the
1) what do u mean?
The player name that identifies you within the lobby and afterwards within the game (e.g. "[player name]'s turn"). The game extracts some default name from Windows or Steam or the like, but I obviously want to use one that suits the race I'm playing.
