I'm not suggesting that every alien race be a homogeneous, boring blob like in Star Trek or Star Wars, but keep it on a believable level; in Galactic Civilizations 3 the Drengin Empire and the Yor have the other races by the balls to the extent where some races have been pushed to the brink of extinction or enslaved almost in totality. This is literally the worst possible time for internal dissent
&nbsp

Gal Civ 3 is the only one on my Must Have List. If I buy any other game this year(outside of humble indie bundles, I almost always pick those up) It'll probably just be something I've wanted for a while thats gone on sale.

yep, agree with above two posters. This Idea wouldn't be so bad if there was no endgame, A true sandbox, and as you explored further and further out the game spawned randomly generated empires in various stages of developement, but that would get boring fast.

I'd appreciate if some more knowledgeable people on the hardware side of computing would give their input on this, if I can save some money without compromising performance too greatly please let me know. I can already save money by not getting the hard drive and putting the drives I'm using now into the new system, which I'm going to do anyway, it would just be nice to have that extra storage space, but anywhere else I could save would also be good.</spa

I'm fine with the current batch of humanoid alien races, but it would be nice to see some more alien races that are different from all the others, like the Thalan are. Having a race of Dragons would be cool, a Feline race too I would love that.

Looks pretty good. I purchased the bundle, and downloaded Heroes of a Broken Land Last Night, haven't tried it out yet, but I'm sure I'll have a lot of fun with the game.
But then we have games and movies that teach our children (and grand children) just the opposite!
This one tickled me, a responsible parent would teach their child that just because something happens in a game or in a movie doesn't mean it can happen in real life. It is not the developers/directors of games and movies responsibility to teach these things, their job is to entertain us, and sounds in space

I read an article early this year where physicists had claimed to record a temperature just below absolute zero I believe they claimed it was so cold it was infinitely hot therefore cold is hot

Space is not at absolute Zero, it's close, but because of the cosmic microwave background radiation CMRB for short, which we believe to be from the big bang, the temperature is at about 3 degrees Kelvin. At Zero Kelvin there would also be Zero pressure which is a very difficult thing to imagine

The population value is not the actual population, but the amount of citizens paying taxes to your empire, these citizens don't necesarily have to belong to your race, but slaves will definitely not pay taxes, so won't be counted as part of your population, and after a conquest initially you will only get taxes from the occupation forces you sent to that planet. The Good races would slowly integrate the imprisoned former population into their own society, or ship them off to worlds be

sound waves don't travel in a vacuum, but explosions are much less fun without the accompanying boom, so keep the sound effects for space battles please. An option to toggle them off might not be a bad idea, but its not an option I would ever use.

It's a multi-player only game, if valve will no loner host servers for the game on steam then there really is no point in them keeping the game on peoples libraries because you wouldn't be able to play it anyway. I never heard of the game til now. I'm sure if there was a single player option then valve would have kept the game in the library.

pure good and pure evil are abstracts that don't work applied to people, or civilizations, real or imaginary, even Hitler wasn't pure evil, even though he was pretty darn close. If he had won the war the History books would have written him up as some kind of saviour for his people, and everyone else would have been portrayed as evil tainted bastards who threatened the purity of the human race but were ultimately destroyed.

Indie Game Developers, Chucklefish, have been making this game called Starbound for 2 years now and very soon they will be ready to release the Beta version of the game to those who have pre-ordered. Pre-orders are still open, and look likely to stay there up til release of Version 1.0. It's a sandbox platform adventure game s
