I, too, am now having the same issue when loading saved campaign games in ToTA 2.02. Debug.err doesn't have any relevent errors. I read in one of the patch notes they made changes so that the game would randomize the music more often, perhaps the music is getting to the end of the list? Sort of like having shuffle turned on but repeat turned off in media player? * shrug *

Actually both are normal in this type of game - fiddling with sliders every turn, or hardly at all. I suppose in the end it's all in how you want to play the game. Unless you are asking if you SHOULD be adjusting the sliders every turn. But even then it's up to how you want to play the game. I think it took many of us more than a few games before we got comfortable with how and how often we used the sliders. Before any of us can give a more detailed reply to
Or you might have been confused by the mission text as I often was. On most campaign missions, you start out as a team with one or more races already. Because of this, it's impossible to make an alliance with those races - the game considers a team to be superior to an alliance. I remember being confused by this for quite a while my first times through. Clan Lindsey's advice also works, too. Other things to try to gain an alliance:
I can sum up the strategies for you real quick. Your basic All-Factories Strategy: Set your Spending Distribution (production) sliders in your domestic screen as follows: Military - 50% Social - 50% Research - ZERO Don't build any labs/research structures at all. Then, open up each planet. Along the top, from left to right, it has three sections - Military, Social, and Research - indicating how m

I got to the final clue and was prompted for info, I put in my impulse ID, but then I put in my impulse password instead of the "answer" :/ And I think I further screwed up by using Davabled as my ID, instead of my email address as my ID... bleh. I was so excited to! edit: it let me play the game again, so I went ahead and this time made sure to use my email adress instead and enter the correct answer... this was nice compared to yesterday, when it seemed to stop g

You're like a cat pouncing on a mouse with those ZYW's, KP :) Galefury, looks like a good game from you, good score on crippling! To all: I've got a lot on my plate, so I'd like to take my name off the roster for next round. But I should be able to participate in the following round(s). Once again, I'd like to thank the guys for coming up with some fun and challenging round settings again, hope you keep up the good work! And special congratulations to Team

Grats Mumble! I know you've been searching for that for a long time, and I admit I was doubting whether you could. The only real downside to the entire game was the fact that I only had 5 morale resources which required that I have 3 VRC's per 20B planet instead of the normal 2. That kinda surprised me, I thought you normally played without morale structures. edit: can't get the quote to show up properly... I don't think I'll ever get

Am I blind or are there no MyColors themes for Galactic Civilizations? I figured Stardock would be all over that like Drengin on Slavelings.

However, it's worth noting that if you are on a 32-bit OS, you are still limited to 4GB, minus your video card, and whatever your primary application (presumably you have some purpose in mind by setting the flag for 3GB) is going to be consuming the vast majority of that 3GB, if not all of it (read: late game immense GCII games, etc), which doesn't leave much for anything else. Taking into account the above subtraction f
