Speaking of which - https://www.humblebundle.com/ offers X3:Terran Conflict on "PWYW" model for just 24 hours. Good time to buy as any. As for X-R, I actually like idea of single ship, what I don't like is how it has been implemented.
Woah, thanks for the heads up buddy. I went humble on the bundle and snatched that booty. As far as the first X being dated, I do not

Would you recommend trying the first X game? It is pretty old but I do not mind. Descent: Freespace is old and is still pretty enjoyable, if you can stand dated graphics. It has that arcade feel I like. Plenty of commands and settings but the missions are still fast and combat oriented. X is a different type of game but I am also drawn to this concept. Seems to be in the same category as upcoming games Star Citizen and Limit theory.

Thanks for the recommendations. I ended up getting Descent free space for 2.50$ on steam. I know I said I was looking for something rather modern but that was mainly for joystick compatibility lol. Turns out freespace uses all the fancy features on any joystick I can throw at it so for now that fills my need. I am also enjoying the game. Runs pretty well on Win 7 64 despite bing over 15 years old, haha. X universe games look pretty nice. I may dive in th

Long story short, I inherited a large lot of joysticks ( the flight sim types, not the arcade type ). Some pretty fancy ones in there. Most of them will probably end up for sale on Ebay but I still gotta test them. And then will likely keep one or two for myself. I have never been much into flight sims but I really loved Nova Logic Comanche back in the days, and an old game called Mantis. Too a lesser extend I recall trying a game called Freespace 2 at some point and thinking it

I had watched a LP before trying the game so I knew how to play before I got in. I just jumped in like it was an old pair of shoes. I have no problem with the UI, it is pretty simple and basic. But I wish it was more informative about a few things, like when a hero is being attacked or when there are monsters left. But it is still an Alpha now. I am also a fan of old school games. I have litterally never stopped playing the SNES, NES and Sega Genesis for 20 years ( N

Yes they have two games in early access. However DOTE it is a different type of game. It is still in the same universe as their 4x titles though. DOTE is a Game that takes elements of a rogue-like, strategy, RPG and tower defense and crunch them into a darkly humorous and beautifully crafted piece of pixel art gaming. It is highly addictive, be warned. Btw I am having my best run so far, halfway through level 5 and still kicking.
Indeed, I simply cannot understand why someone would complain about adding something that would not affect them. People so often get flamed when only asking for options not even changes. I guess some people just need some way to voice their opinion, no matter the form.
Please do not confuse Complaining and flaming others with honest criticism. Also, this would indirectly affect me as it would affect the d

You can see that this guy is working really hard on his project, massive props to him. I will probably buy it even though it is not my favored type of game.

My understanding is that the new plan is to push a last version of the Alpha with the ship designer in it. If that is the case they went a different route than what is in the tentative schedule. they are probably putting a lot of focus on the ship designer and will release the patch when the designer is good enough. This is what I gathered from the last podcast. We may have more clues tomorrow :p

It is pretty hard in a Rogue-like way, but also has you coming back for more even after you failed miserably. It has 2 diffulty settings currently. EASY and TOO EASY.... Well, TOO EASY is pretty much that, not very challenging. I beat all 8 levels in the Alpha on the first try. Then there is EASY, which is pretty HARD. I have never beaten level 4 in a dozen games on easy. I can't wait to try again O_O I think I am not careful enough. But the catch is that the g

DARCA... Let's put an end to this thread shall we by settling on the fact that we simply do not know. We have zero empirical evidence about what other Alien civilizations are like. We do not even have any evidence that there are any at all. Even if what you say was true, you cannot prove it. Evolutionary biologists do not all agree on this because it is theory, no observation can be made to verify those theories. Even though your theory m

I bought that game a couple days ago, from the same devs as Endless Space and Endless legend. Please be careful with this game, it can cause serious sleep deprivation. The thing is ultra addictive, I just can't stop playing it and really losing on my sleep time. I hope that if I play it enough I will grow bored and be able to return to my normal sleep schedule. No sign of me growing bored so far... Consider Yourself warned. And it is still an alpha...

Im out of this thread guys, I do not think you will be able to convince DARCA that his line of thought is flawed. He is obstinate. And he might be using us as a stress reliever for a dentist appointment or something.
