Hi y'all. Just scored a new computer and loaded GCIII up. Totally forgot which file to edit the number of mercenaries appearing. On my old computer, I had them all set to appear instead of the 'regular' few. Where would I find it, etc.? luceo non uro courtneyme109

The 4. series updates are interesting. Recently noticed minor civilizations are using their precursor artifacts - the Divine Yolia just used their wormhole generator to send one of my ships into the unknown. This may have happened before I started using the 4.0 series, not sure luceo non uro

Some thoughts on V4.2: Significant reduction of game drag in the 300 turns. The AI is still parading precious ships like the Prime Minister, Prince and Princess (with escorts) into dangerous areas. The proximity of civilization starting points certainly ramps up desperate research, creating and cashing in scientists for 'epiphanies', risking war to snatch up Precurser Archives and going broke for Pragmatic choices to get the chance to use the 50 turns of Peace to prepa

How do you use your citizens? At first, i use them for scientists to promote and speed through especial techs. Later, I use them for 'Leaders' to ramp up research, social construction etc. After achieving the Star Federation tech that allows me to build citizens, I'm using bunches of supply ships (roughly 20+/-) per turn to speed up their creation on one planet. luceo non uro

Opportunity! Sometimes an event will convert many zero class planets into class 10's another event will convert many of them into class 20s! Plus zero class planets make Kiln of Worlds handy. Also, one wicked trick is to use the Kiln on a dead world in an foreign/enemy system, colonize it and use the 1000 influence relic/artifact. luceo non uro

A few things I've noticed is a rival civilization will still send out their Prime Minister (sometimes accompanied by other ships, sometime not) into dangerous places, Trade ships will stack up (perhaps their commercial target is not yet in range) out side of foreign capitals. luceo non uro

The ability to have more than one commander with a task force or fleet was changed to one commander only a while back. There are moments when a fleet will not accept more ships despite having plenty of logistic points available. luceo non uro

May not be 'correct' yet if I suspect my starting position is untenable, I'll reload with the cheats and check out the map to ensure there's resources - as well as where and who my nearest neighbors are. luceo non uro

Exactly how and where does one enter the "~" to enable the console? After well over 2K hours in GCIII finally getting around to experiment with using cheats luceo non uro

Agree with Publius of NV. Aid Research appeared crucial in the old days to ensure you didn't get left behind tech wise. Used it for eons and actually miss it. Maybe tweek it so you have to have a lab built on your colony before you can use it on that colony? luceo non uro
