Can't GC be played in a regular Windows screen so that you can see the bottom Windows bar? I play full screen but i thought you could play the other way too. That way you can see the clock already on your screen. Having the Devs do this seems like a waste to me. Playing windows degrades performance (for me) to the point where it's not worth it, and since the minimum resolution takes up the entire screen anyway, there's no real point.

********** It was a strange crew that reassembled on the Birmingham's bridge that afternoon. On the one hand, Captain Dube and Commander Keller had just arrived from the dinner party, and were looking resplendent in their gilded dress whites, kid gloves, and black leather shoes polished to a mirror shine. On the other hand. . . "Mister O'Malley," Allison said, taking off her hat and hanging it from a hook in the wall. "Please recite for me Star Force regulation 756.451b,
"There, you've put all the, oh how shall I put it? EVIL civilisations in one big group, but filled a space with the THALANS! FOR GOD'S SAKE MAN! THE THALANS HATE THEM, AND THE FEELING IS MUTUAL!" he threw the paper at the waiter and growled "Get out"! Okay, that would be a faux pas of the highest order, possibly ending with someone getting eaten for dinner.
I should have clarified: it was the anti-cheating software that was messing up my antivirus. It also didn't work, since by the time I quit the game economy was shot from hacked money. I'll keep that in mind because once I move my game to MMO, I do intend to check files for tampering. One cheater can chase away 50 honest customers. http://e
The best solution to the problem is a biological domestic co-inhabitant, most often referred to as a wife. That sounds like a classic case of the cure being worse than the disease! If a watch or alarm clock doesn't help, try some meds for your OCD condition. Better living through chemistry . . . and it won't nag you to take out the garbage or make you sleep on the couch if you play too
WTF would they have anti pirate software going if they are charging a monthly fee? I could see copy protection, keep opportunistic copying low, but if the thrust is a premium service, wtf would they worry so much about piracy. Let them pirate and make it up with online service charges. I should have clarified: it was the anti-cheating software that was messing up my antivirus. It also didn't work, since by the time I quit the
Speaking of which, the fact that my GNN robot encourages me to continue my addiction when I try to leave doesn't help ;_;
Damn typos. . .
This is what confused me: " The Korx unrolled a parchment from under his cloak and began to read, the repulsors in his cloak forming the black cloth into a pair of demonic wings that seemed to flutter in the breeze from the room's air conditioning." Care to elaborate? The Krynn Ambassador has a flair for drama.
It happens
Very very good so far. I'm a little confused as to what happened when he was finished speaking, however. The Krynn read a declaration of war on the entire Galaxy.
********** Things were going much better than Bradley had expected. They were coming to the end of the rather boring round of opening statements that marked the beginning of most of these diplomatic conferences. There had been no surprises. Bradley's speech had spoken about Terran hopes for peace and prosperity. Elyse Mue had spoken about the end to long years of bloodshed. Lord Vega, the need to remember the fallen. Kralax had basically given an economic report and a plan
Think about it this way: with the Drengin as your loyal puppet government slaves, enthralled by the superiority of your culture, you can evilly send them as your minions out to pillage and plunder at your behest while you reap the fruits of their labor.
Ah, apologies for confusing a TBT game with RTS; my main recollection of X-com was not liking it, which doesn't help me retain details. I still hope that the not-MoM tactical interface has an Auto option for battles where you have overwhelming superiority and are not concerned about minimizing losses. No accounting for taste. . . oh well <div class="
I guess you're right, maybe. But in the real world I would use a gas mask against germ warfare... . I'm beating the Korath right now anyway (in normal) <img id="ImageResize_Image_1" src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" onload="ImageResize
Part MoM and part X-Com? Yummm! Here's hoping that the X-Com part has a full automation option. I miss my MoMmy a lot, but not enough to get sucked into some RTS style clickfest. Xcom is turn-based tactics
I have a more basic question about economic bases (not on an economic resource). You build one the first one and it does nothing. Add another and it apparently gives you a 5% bonus. Bonus to that planet's income and all of those within its sphere of influence. If you add more constructors to the original, do you just get added defensive/offensive/sensing capabilities? And no more economic bonuses? I guess you build a different but only 4
Is Thief that Splinter Cell-esque game where you steal stuff (thief...stealing...or did I miss something)? Cause I played one of those (#3 I think) and I thought it was awesome. No, Splinter Cell is the Thief-esque game Thief came first, and is an obvious inspiration for Sp
Spore Ships are the nuclear option of Gal Civ II. There is no real way to defend against nukes in the real world except shooting them down, and if even one gets through, you're screwed. I think they're fine as is, since the tech is so expensive and you give up substantial bonuses in other fields with other super abilities to get them.
I won. That's nice.
Also, attempting the Neville Chamberlain "I HAVE ACHIEVED PEACE IN OUR TIME!" route of giving the Korath tech to keep them pacified because the Drath and Altarians decided you had to die in a secret meeting and you couldn't fight a four-front war against them AND the Republic of Alcont (custom race). . . well. Be wary however, the Korath cannot be trusted, if you give them any military/production/researched based technologies, t
Wow, how did I mispost what I meant to put in the jokes thread into the serial number thread? O.O
I tend to get the "secret agreement between civilizations where they decide you must be stopped" event a lot. I think it's basically the game's way of saying, "You just spent three years building up trade routes and negotiating with your neighboring civilizations in a peaceful and reasonable manner. BOOOOOOOOOOOORING!!!"
I just wanted to say that the fact that we can play this game in so many different styles that all work is a real testament to the game design.
My $0.02 The "Minimum Systems Requirement" thing was the reason why I did not buy Neverwinter Nights 2. I took a look at the back of the box, saw that it was uncomfortably close to my system's specs, and put the box back. Saved me $50, which I would, several years later, spend on GalCivII Gold Another example of sloppy game design: Monolith. Monolith makes really fun First Person Shoo
