Think of it this way: the minor races are like the Koreans. They're stuck between Japan and China but they refuse to incorporate into either because of their fierce national pride, and in the meantime, they make some really damn good cell phones (and play a lot of Starcraft). So basically, the only way that Korea would incorporate into either China or Japan would be if they were conquered militarily. On the other hand, they'll happily make trade treaties and such with the US.

This thing's incredibly useful, but I was just thinking how much greater it would be if there were a third button for fleets separate from regular ships. Or maybe there is one and I just suck at GCII
The above parameters were used for the exercise: it assumes a small quadrant of space with tightly packed stars, a random number of planets and stars, and a small number of habitable planets. Unusual features and asteroid resources are plentiful, as are native sentient species (a small conceit on Larth Debeus' part, to test the simulation's ability to simulate a non-human race). Finall
From: Imperial Observer Deca-Commander Plakia Lexshue, Imperial Military Science Center To: Empress Ramaj Abriel, Imperial Capital, Lakfakalle Re: Feasibility Simulation, Operation Tinker ********** Given the current tension with the United Mankind and the Nova Sicily Alliance, it has been determined that the chances of war breaking out within the next two decades is approximately 95%, -+ 15%. Although it is Abh policy to expect victory and to choose death before
That's what I discovered. My influence bases did nothing, and I aborted and switched to troop transports. Thus far, it works well, although I get the feeling it's only because I'm playing at an easy difficulty level using a specific setup. It's fun, but not exactly a viable tactic. I'll submit a full AAR when I'm done.
Thanks, I will be posting the AAR once I'm done Thinking it over some more, this is my plan of attack. 1. Small or tiny universe with all the minor races and two or three major races: minor races, being weaker, will be easier to conquer, and a smaller universe size means my influence bases will have more effect. I'm thinking setting habitable planets to rare in order to further concentr
N00bie here about to try something insane. I've picked up this game, loved it, and have won a couple of games on smaller maps and was gearing up for something bigger when I happened to notice my copy of "Crest of the Stars." This triggered something in my otaku roleplayer head, so I've now decided to go insane and try playing a game as the Abh Empire. Don't know if you've ever read t
How about a semi-tactical combat system? Two of the largest complaints from the MOO crowd are that the combat viewer doesn't do anything, and that combat is basically nothing but sit there and watch your two fleets kill each other. Just adding one layer of depth could make a big difference. Imagine this: As your fleet approaches an enemy fleet/your transport arrives at the enemy planet, a window pops up saying: ************* "XXX has engaged Enemy XXXX" [ ]Au
