you don't turn off your life support in order to supply power to your weapons. Why not its not like your going to suffocate or freeze the moment life support turns off. Youre not going to need that life support if you get blown up. and if that extra energy could be diverted to weapons or defenses.
Another modifier could be ship mass making a tiny hull appear as a massive hull or vice versa would be difficult but making one massive hull look like another would be easier or a fleet of tiny hulls look like one large hull
While they say 8 major races i would think these should be the "prime races" or something to that extant. from what ive heard of what the ai will be able to do ( farm player strategies/ ship builds) i expect its entirely possible to farm custom races. i expect that after a few days there will be hundreds of major races to choose from
I am in the camp that the snakey movement needs to go i like the hexes though . I would be happy if the path line were snakey to represent the tile the ship is actually in but have the ship move in a straight line then hockey stick to the last tile a simple yet imperfect fix would be to instead of moving 10 tiles up in a zig-zag move 5 tiles up/left then 5 tiles up right. Same distance same time more exploration less snake
[quote quoting="post"] I always assumed the limits on the number of ships you could place in a fleet or in orbit was because of the original language/hardware that GC ran on. Why is there ANY limit on the number of ships I can place in a fleet or in orbit? Is there any reason to keep this anachronism and the related research? For reference, the Spanish Armada was 130 sailing ships. I'm not really seeing the need to commit my entire civilization t
I will im currently renoing my basement and its taking longer then expected
Did it? I think starbases were single shot but i never really payed attention to the individual ships
Actually i thought it was very coherent and definately worth its own thread, as for the single line description under combat units and related factors the ability to attack multiple targets per round
Im not strongly in favor of the ages themselves but feel that there should be some impediment to beelining for specific techs i just imagine these cavemen sitting around a fire communicating in monosyllables and then picking up a disintigration rifle to defend themselves with complete understanding of the weapon.
Most current mice have at least 2 buttons + scroll wheel the scroll wheel also acts as a button so rolling it should zoom and pushing it should allow you to rotate if this doesent work most likely something is wrong with your mouse
I kind of prefer the open tech tree that gc2 had but at the same time i think it doesent make sense to allow someone to essentially master one tech tree without even touching any of the others i proposed a modified age system where each tree was split into ages individually to unlock the next age you would need at least half the current ages techs reaearched plus a quarter of that ages techs in other trees so assuming the warfare tree ( age 1) has 20 techs you woul
I like this idea and had a couple of thoughts to add 1) civ bonus to tech speed so certain civs can research a certain type of tech faster 2) tech ages by tech tree right now the next tech age is unlocked once you have a certain number of techs researched ( i think its half of the available techs) what i would suggest is half of the techs from the selected tree and a quarter from any other tree so lets say there are 20 techs in the first age
[quote who="paswertii" reply="75" id="3480507"] Reading through this thread made me think up an alien. So, It's kind of like a nautilus where the shell has 4 insect like legs. The shell and the nautilus type thing are two separate animals but born together with connected brains so that they share a nervous system, the 2 beings work as one. The actual nautilus fleshy bit has 6 large tentacles which are used to manipulate objects. They are also land based and are about the s
question regarding approval will approval drop when a planet is not making money or only when your civilization is not making money?

there should be a ticket already this crash was from 3.0 and right now my pc is not available if it is needed ill see if i still have the save but that wont be for at least a week at the earliest
Its been discussed before and due to the astronomical distances of tile's it would be completely unfeasible to implement even with suspension of belief the costs to mine a single tile of space would be more then your civilization could earn in a single game
Thats is out of date as of 3.0 all ages are available some techs are locked out though primarily dealing with diplomacy
If you researcged it you should be able to build a troop transport ( or similar name ) from your starport if not it should be in the second age of the warfare tech tree unfortunately i dont have access to my pc so cant look it up atm
A simple way would be to have it work based on how you placed the waypoints as in if you place a waypoint over top of another waypoint it considers it a loop while if you place the final waypoint not near any others it considers it a turn about
Speaking of survey ships and auto survey i would like to have an option to turn off survey of wormholes or at least set it to only survey wormholes if no other anomolies are within range
Aww my pcs in a box this week as im renovating my room hopefully i will get to play sometime next week ill need to steal my brothers pc so i can watch the stream at least
I agree it would completely eliminate the need for any building other then economy buildings towards the late game (ATM 0.30) your manufacturing is wasted since you can only build one ship or building per shipyard / planet per turn but any excess economy can be used somewhere else so. as it stands right now manufacturing buildings are not worth it compared to economy buildings if you make research available through purchase then anyone would be stupid to play any style but economic bu
