I've just noticed that quite a few of my skin comments have hidden links in them. Looks like a clever bot has included a link to a seemingly innocent comment. The link text is white, so it doesn't show up unless you mark the text. I will send a PM to a mod to get the comments removed on my own skins, but y'all should look at your own.

Might be time to seriously consider a Linux distro for my part. If MS is pushing win 11 for free, it's because there is a monetary gain to be had somewhere. [e digicons]}:)[/e] I could still do a bit of skinning whenever the bug hits me since we have several windows computers in the house as a family of 5.
Although a more common hard coded UI inconsistency generally would look more like this. I guess it depends on what program is issuing the warning.
That behavior is normal. No amount of purging will help you when the warning dialogs are hard coded. Has been that way since Win10 was new. This is why when I do a dark skin like Pelorous shown in the OP, I always do a light version as well. Maybe Windows 11 will be better....... [e digicons][/e]
My favorite skin for all time is Psycho by skoriginals. I am still using this skin (on windows 10). The skin has not been updated since 2006. and it would really be a gift to see it updated for windows 10.
Shawn has unfortunately retired permanently from skinning. I'd love to see him back, but that's not likely to happen, I'm afraid.
The search bar has been changed in appearance and behavior even since the first version of windows 10. I wish MS would just leave shit alone! I didn't realize that you were showing "typing" mode on the searchbar. Yes, that is also hard coded. One thing to note is that It's showing black on my system which I assume is due to the fact that I have the windows dark theme selected in personalization.
I very rarely skin the address bar. I don't care much for a state change on mouseover......especially because it doesn't actually work like it's supposed too (there should be 4 states according to the help button: Normal, Mouseover, Disabled, and Focus) Disabled state doesn't work and what's the diff between focus and mouse? Is focus "active but not mouse"? Dunno. One more example of inconsistent terminology/mislabeling/legacy functions.
i've tried everything i can think of, using tga, bmp, also change the top glass, delete the top glass etc, nothing works
Try this: Delete the code for the Address Field sections (all 3 parts: Normal, Green and Red if you've skinned them) and leave the Search field background. If left blank, the address field will use the same image as the search field.
Run and control panel backgrounds are hard coded white. Search bar can be replaced with an image in the same section where you did the address bar..... look for Search field background. Note: The search field in windows 10 only supports 1 state so you might as well draw it as a single image and change the image count to 1.

Been hard at work the last 2 weeks on my newest theme centered around the 4 houses at Hogwarts. My 3 kids are super into Harry Potter and I got inspired! Each style is based on the 2 main colors of the school uniforms. As always, I tried to make them decorative, but still useable!
I've seen this before, but I believe if you enable the menu bar it goes away. That's part of the ribbon showing (it would be white if you have the "light" theme enabled). I first noticed it when Microsoft did a change to the height of the top glass area several versions back.
you're partly right, i used the color for button face background in primary substyle (light skin), but for dark substyle i have changed it, it doesn't seem to have any effect.
I'm not partly right. I'm either right or I'm wrong.

When you hit edit, most likely she image is converted to a .png and opened in paint.net. These converted images get stored in a separate folder inside the skin folder. You will need to reimport your recolored image into skinstudio. Click on the arrow button to the right of the "build high dpi image" button and choose "import" from the dropdown menu. The import path should be: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\WindowBlinds\ skinname \TempPngs. When you've specified that folder the
Update: According to this thread ( LINK ), the Beta 10.8.9.1 (06/10/2021) has fixed both of these issues.
there are other areas in SKS that needs fixing.
Tell me about it! As you all know, I wrote an entire thread about it! Here's a good one: On the above skin, I needed to add a glow to the mouseover on the titlebar buttons. No matter what I did, I couldn't get it to work. I opened Diamond to compare my settings and it all looked correct. I even imported the actual glow image into my skin for testing and still wasn't
I don't purchase anything from Amazon nor Wallmart out of principle. There are probably companies that are just as bad, but those 2 are very prominent.
