I *really* didn't like that researching a new Life Support tech in GC3 automatically extended the range of existing ships. If they wanted more range, they should have to replace the existing LS components with more advanced ones.
One of the Life Support tech descriptions states that it is a software upgrade of the existing hardware that makes the ships travel further, figuring out how to squeeze more out of what&#
It would be nice if you tried to implement truly new, original features that make the game different. Not everyone loves the city states feature in Civ V but at least you could say that is a completely new feature to that series that really alters the entire world and gameplay experience. Where is that happening in Gal Civ III? Otherwise, you should not call this a sequel - it's just another expansion.
Gal Civ 2
Guanthor I believe that the Colonial Bank isn't actually an upgrade to the Trade Centre. Based on the bonus' it applies to surrounding buildings I think it is like the Research Coordinator and Fusion Power Plant type buildings and is the economic support building. Fate,
I'd prefer if this was an option that could be enabled, rather than on by default. As a native English speaker subtitles ruin awesome video pieces like that for me. Fate,
At a guess I'd say this is an "Age of Warfare" tech that they bumped into the earlier age so that we have it, but I agree, it is far too easy to get! Now I'm slightly suspect of the insistent steam messages to come play Darca hahahaha ;) Fate,

I'm imagining power blocks of Suicidal AI, 5 blocks of 10 each and 49 unaligned players, and me sitting there with Super Manipulator very carefully balancing and wearing everyone down, while I ate one de-toothed unaligned AI
Thank you Suomi! Fate,
Or in steam press F12 and you can take as many as you want, steam will ask you which ones to keep after you close out of the game. It'll even upload them to your profile for easy linking if you want too. Fate,
You can go into the console by hitting tilda, the ` key bellow escape and type help, one of the commands that comes up lets you end turns without using up all idle colonies, ships, ideologies and techs - can't remember it off the top of my head! Fate,
Also the tentative schedule post at the top of the forum, pinned there, tells you roughly when things are going to be implemented! Fate,
I was under the impression everything out now is a placeholder
This echo's my thoughts upon seeing it. There's currently very few (I've only see two, but reports are that there are actually four) and they're placeholders so that we can test out the new ideology system and have a fiddle with that.
We're actually intended to see what the AI is making, so we can see if they're being idiots or not.
I can answer that one for you! Yes. Always. In all cases. Alpha. Fate,
Not so much no... That's usually a sign of an ATI. But, do you have an ATI or a NVidea graphics card? Red or Green basically? ATI(AMD) Auto detect card: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool NVidea Auto detect card: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en
^^^^^^^^^Can confirm, that works. Fate,
With my ATI I still had issues with crashes and choppyiness after I updated to the beta drivers, what finally produced a stable and smooth game was to disable "bloom" in the video settings in game. That'd be my next bet, but if that doesn't work then I'd try disabling the crossfire and just running a single card, alpha might after all not be fully optimised to deal with that. Fate,
Did you try searching for any beta or test drivers during the update process? My computer knowledge is limited sorry, but I had some problems in the actual game until I turned bloom off - perhaps if there is a way to adjust the video settings outside of the game in the files that could be a point to look at? I haven't looked and don't know if such a thing exists sorry! Fate,
Put your ambush in the nebula and leave a "bait" ship just outside it. When the enemy closes in on the "bait" then jump the enemy.
Don't give away all the cool stratergies before we've even had a chance to use the Jack hahahaha ;) Fate,

Yep I agree, being able to see past the nebula and dust when you're out of it but not when your in it seems a bit weird haha! Hiding fleets for sneak attacks would be excellent! Fate,
I always assume that with a mobile Radeon I'm going to have issues at launch of a game, I'm just so so so so happy that I managed to get an alpha to work with minimal fucking around! Drivers are your friends diablo! Fate,
